Just said that if we are going to call ourselves the good guys, we should act like good guys.
This issue should not divide Dems and Reps. I feel sure this was aimed at Imhofe's idiotic rant.
He asked Taguba if he would sic a dog on Saddam. They both agreed that they would not.
Then he asked if the Red Cross should be allowed to visit our prisons.

40. I agree...
he ripped Rumsfeld a new asshole so well the other day that I had to turn up the volume to make sure I was hearing what I was HEARING! He's gained a little bit of respect with me...but for his hand in the Clinton thing...he will be forever tarnished! He's just too cocky and arrogant!

7. Agreed...
I don't trust him (maybe NO republican), but he was a complete and obnoxious, pontificating, and holier-than-thou bulldog during the Clinton "impeachement". He REALLY got ugly then. I couldn't stand him then, and my opinion has changed little since.

6. Lindsay has always been a thug for the GOP
South Carolinians learned this a long time ago.

What i think we're seeing here is that Graham (who was, I believe, an attorney in the Reserves) cannot overcome his repulsion re: prisoner abuse even when it might behoove him to do so. But I don't think there is any way that this is a come-to-Jesus moment for him--he's back doing the devil's own work as soon as the current crisis passes.

He should come out of the closet. There have been sightings all over D.C. of Lindsey Graham coming out of gay bars in the dead of night.

What a furor that would cause amongst the fundies.

14. Did you also hear him almost blame Rummy?
Just before his time ended, he was talking about derelection of duty as a criminal charge under UCMJ. He related that it requires more than a letter of repremand to Karpinski and the others directly in charge of that prison. But, he ventured further to say that Rummy is responsible for the entire scope of this war and under derelection of duty..........and his time expired.

Did I misunderstand this statement?

17. never forget his disgusting role in bill clinton's impeachment
not only did he help to nearly bring down one of our greatest presidents on weak and partisan grounds, but he did so ineptly, stupidly and ineffectively.

i remember being amazed at what a terrible "lawyer" he was, and how unprepared.

and yes, he's another self-hating republican closet case homosexual who does everything he can to further the right wing's anti-gay agendas while sucking dick every chance he gets, no doubt.

note: i fully support gay people and gay rights. I fully detest right wing closet case butt boys.

21. i base my conclusion on internet research, and yeah, I am convinced
disclaimer: I'm gay myself, and must admit that my first clue about l. graham was good old fashioned gaydar when I would see him on tv during the clinton impeachment show trials.

inspired by the strength of my intuitional feeling about his sexuality, I did a lot of surfing around gay chat/discussion/information sites and search engines.

so, yes, short of confirming my take on lindsey by nailing him myself :puke:, I feel confident in saying that he plays on my team.

and there's not much better example of self-hatred than a gay republican.

37. Lindsey "Light in His Loafers"
It's been floating around in SC for a long time.

'Light in His Loafers'
The Democratic Party chairman in South Carolina, Dick Harpootlian, issues a press release calling Rep. Lindsey Graham, a Republican, "a little too light in the loafers" to succeed Sen. Strom Thurmond. Graham says the phrase "was intended to slander me"; Andrew Sullivan sees it as an example of "liberal gay-baiting." Harpootlian says he didn't know the phrase referred to homosexuality.

22. I disagree with him on many issues, but I do respect him
There's an honesty about him that I like. Certainly he is partisan sometimes, but he has said many things in the last week that got me to thinking about the issues that need to bond us rather than divide. You know he was a military attorney? Like a JAG I think.

Anyways, I agree.

24. Graham's kinda hard to figure out. .
He'll spout the Repug party line and then all of a sudden, he'll show a little backbone and vote against the Republicans every now and then. I can't figure out if he's a typical Repug whore or if there's an actual independent streak in there somewhere.

27. Here's my take
He understands how terrible this is. Obviously, some of the Republicans are more than willing to try to sweep this under the rug and claim it's no big deal. Graham knows what this means. If McCain says Rumsfeld should go, I think Graham would follow McCain's lead.

and prepare to build him a statue. Powell, McCain, Graham - the bar goes lower and lower.
Has anyone thought that as human beinmgs and reps they need to be held to a higher standard, even as GOP-ers?
Giuliani, a rotten mayer merely did his jom on 911 (instead of hiding lile W). being a GOP-er, he was sanctified for it (in spite of the fact that he put the City defense bunker in the WTC). ENOUGH ALREADY!

>Just said that if we are going to call ourselves the good guys, we should act like good guys.<

Maybe Lindsay needs to give some thought to his behavior during Clinton's impeachment. This issue would be getting NO PLAY in the press if it weren't for Democrats still raising hell over it. In the meantime, Lindsay can stay with the Republicans. If the rumors are true, it will be much too delicious when they find out his little secret.
