Now HERE's a repugnant thought re rape in Iraq...
OK, we all know that rape and murder are capital crimes under the UCMJ, right? Aren't they also capital crimes under Islamic law?

There is supposedly as yet unreleased video of US servicemen raping both women and little boys in Iraq.

What if they convict and execute the servicemen who took part in it? Do you think Rove could spin it to the Islamic world as "American law is as just as Islamic law" and turn it into a positive thing? Wouldn't that go a long way towards restoring credibility to the current administration in both the pro death-penalty part of the American population and in the Islamic world too?

1. Highly unlikely
Anything more than the most pathetically ceremonial slap on the wrist (if even that) is out of the question here.

3. I don't know...
this isn't a Calley kind of situation, it's MUCH more emotionally charged than that. The military has historically taken a VERY dim view of rape in cases where there is strong evidence that it happened and was indeed rape.

We shall see...

Okinawa, Korea.

They've obviously known about this for months and have done fuckall about it. The only reason there is ANYTHING being done is that they got caught. I suspect the more vigorous investigation will be how to prevent news of the sort from ever leaking out again.

It should be used if appropriate.

6. A Texan supporting capital punishment? You don't see that everyday.
That's a pretty daring position that you've taken there. I hope that it doesn't lead you to be ostracized in your community or something like that. How do you find the courage to take such an unpopular position? :eyes:

5. I have an idea for a new Amerikan flag...
Leave the stripes, but instead of the stars in the upper corner, why not substitute the picture of the guy with the wires tied to his hands and genitals.

I don't know much about "photo-shop," but that "Girl with man on leash" photo could be altered to show "Cheney's face with naked Bush on leash."

Seeing those photos properly doctored into campaign posters would make me feel a little better. Especially with the caption under one reading "The Emperor has no Brains."

7. Not quite correct.
There is supposedly as yet unreleased video of US servicemen raping both women and little boys in Iraq.

The rapes were conducted, according to what is known, by Iraqi guards, while American guards filmed it...and did nothing to stop it.

What has happened to my army? How did we come to THIS?

8. Why don't fundamentalists of every religion
get together, decide what they agree on and then subjugate the rest of us to enforce their ideas (i.e. remove women's rights, gay rights, civil rights, freedom of speech etc)?
