Thought I saw Thomas Jefferson sitting invisibly next to Joe Wilson...
on "Meet the Press," and all the other Founders gathered behind them. Joseph Welch was sitting invisibly to the other side of Wilson, and when Wilson was talking about Karl Rove, Welch was muttering to himself, "Have you no sense of decency sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?"

Finally, one fearless man takes us back to the beginning, and makes clear to anyone who can understand it, that the Bush cabal is striking at the very heart of our democratic system. When Wilson talked about the fear under which journalists live and work, I literally felt myself tremble. Wilson, who sat in his Baghdad office as ambassador with a noose around his neck, daring Saddam to come and get him, had the courage to say that Condoleeza Rice "LIED." With his anger, Joe Wilson is sounding an alarm as clear and certain as Paul Revere's that night long ago in Boston.

2. There was not one thing that he said that did not resonate as
reasonable. The administration took on the wrong man in Joseph Wilson. I love the way that he twice repeated George the first's quotes; also I felt so honored to be watching so great an American when he said as an American citizen he would speak out against the admin and said Bush himself had called for the election to be a referendum on the Bush first term. Russert did not have a chance; every time he asked a loaded question Wilson turned into an indictment of the unpres. This is one mad husband and I am going out today and buy his book.

4. Calling Condi a "liar" was a major breakthrough....Maybe others will get
the courage to speak up now, and tell it like it is, instead of the weasley words they use to describe the lying that is going on!

5. Yes, a true patriot spoke out this morning.

The big picture tells me that they went waaayyyy too far this time. What does he have to lose in defending our country against these people? He was smeared. His family lost their income from the spouse's job. Though we don't know all the ramifications, her projects were exposed and as some have said, lives could (still) be in danger. He will probably have tremendous legal fees before it's all over.

(It's obvious that the right wing loves to make work for lawyers - friends and staff of the Clinton's had horrendous legal bills. Those promoters of tort reform - to put caps on citizen monetary awards love lawyers and lawyer elves).

So, their rebuttal is going to be fascinating to make an understatement - what are the odds that they will declare that the details threaten national security and try to keep it secret?

Or what are the odds that Ann C will write a book saying his wife never worked for the CIA and that she, Ann, has the uranium in her apartment along with the Niger scientists who were preparing it for Hussein and is just waiting to prove Wilson wrong?

The questions are asked to show how ludicrous these people who were going to bring honor and integrity back to the White House, are. Well, they didn't and they won't bring honor or dignity, but the destructions they have reaped and will reap is all done with their suits and ties on. Isn't that nice?

8. He was great, wasn't he!
He was calm throughout, yet his passion came through as well. It was great when he talked about Condi's remarks (you remember, "maybe someone in the bowels of the White House knew that this Niger uranium claim was suspect, but no one in our circles knew this...") -- he started by saying she "misrepresented" the facts, then simply said "in fact, she lied".

Russert never landed a single punch, although he tried. My favorite part was at the end when Russert quoted him calling Cheney "a lying son-of-a-bitch" and Wilson said yes, and that's about the kindest thing I've said about the Vice President in the last few months.

He also pointed out how many in the government and in the press are cowed by this corrupt and venal administration. He pointed out how many Americans have died so far in a war based on lies. And he made no apology for supporting John Kerry -- he said that it is his right as an American to support a candidate of his choice. Of course, it's depressing that he would *have to* point this out, and funny (in a black humor kind of way) when you consider who is accusing him of being partisan.

Let's see: patriotic, courageous, truthful, family values -- better watch yer back, Joe, you're everything this cabal hates.

11. From the MTP transcript, Wilson channels Jefferson --
"This country is created with checks and balances guaranteed to, one, hold the government accountable for its actions and for its words, and two, to give citizens and the press certain privileges and rights to take on the government and challenge the government on what it says and does. For this government to have attacked me personally and then to have done what they did to my wife is, frankly, un-American."

14. Wilson realized after the SOTU address, his wife was targeted as the fall
guy.

You all know what is going on now, no hint of any WMD. There never was.

Bush needed a scape goat standing in the wings for the bubble that was about to burst, NO WMD in Iraq.

Bush's excuse was :"This is the intelligence I received from a CIA operative." Then the charade would have played out--- the media demanding the name of the operative. Then Bush, would have feigning reluctance handed over Valerie Plame on a silver platter for the country to devour at their leisure..

But Bush? "See...I've got Clean hands. It wasn't me. I had bad intelligence. It's their fault, not mine."

Joe Wilson did a preemptive shock and awe on the Bush Cabal and at the same time proved once again, where theres life theres hope, the Cabal CAN be beaten.
