Need DU help digging dirt on Arnold Shwarzenegger
Okay, here's my idea:

I remember reading a magazine in a store once a few years ago (1994-1997), a reputable publication like Premiere or something, where there was this big article about Arnold's extramarital affairs and boorish, sexually pushy attitude with women. Specifically, I remember a passage where Arnold is caught performing cunnilingus on a groupie in his dressing room...when confronted, Arnold replied, "E@ting is not cheating." This was during a lull in his career, and was quite unflattering to the (one-)Terminator; the hero revealed himself to be an absolute pig, a republican philandering sexist bastard.

Can someone please help me find this article, and forward it to some media outlet, or give me a link? I can't remember the exact publication, the writer, or the exact year, but this piece could be pretty hurtful to Schwarzenegger's career as a (republican) politican. Really, the article painted this guy to be real sleazebag. Does anybody remember this? Did I hallucinate it? Somebody help me out please.

1. I wouldn't worry
The Enquirer is bound to be in full attack mode this week. There's a lot of dirt on Arnold. The thing is, he doesn't seem to care.

By the way, he nailed Elanor Mondale in the 80s so he must have a thing for the daughters of political families.

and I would have "nailed" Eleanor Mondale too.

She's been on Howard Stern as well as Arnold.

The Stern interview with Eleanor Mondale was a riot.

Howard was asking her about Arnold's endowment (LOL). He also asked her if she saw the vice president's (her father's) endowment.

Arnold is a trip. He even asked Ringo Starr about John Lennon's endowment.

16. I'm not blaming him.
Elanor is a babe.

Actually, I don't care about any politician's love life as long as they are not hypocritical about it. Arnold is by no means an evangelical so whatever he does in his private life is fine with me.

9. If Arnold Is A Harrasser I Have A Problem With That
but if he's an adulterer with willing partners that's between him and Maria.

11. If you remember, Arnold spoke out against Clinton impeachement...
So pretty hard to accuse of a double standard there.

13. Yep
I met Arnold during his Conan days....

He's a decent guy....

I just don't like that he's a trojan horse to advance Republican interests in Golden State politics.

12. Here It Goes
Adultery is wrong

Sexual Harassment is wrong

but out of the two only sexual harassment is civilly actionable.

If what Clinton committed was adultery and not sexual harrassment it is between him , Hillary, Chelsea and their god.

Harrassment is still a murky area of the law and if what Clinton committed was harassment than that's between him, the victim, and the civil courts.

It is beyond debate that Clinton is an adulterer. I don't believe he is a sexual harrasser.

5. I do remember . . .
However, I can't tell you which magazine it was. It seems like I saw something on the cover of a tabloid as well.

Most politicians are pig, sexist bastards and suffer from megalomania, from Thomas Jefferson on down the pike. The question remains for me: "How well can they lead the country?"

6. You know, I'm not sure that's the best tactic here....
I hate to be a moralizing fuddy duddy but the thing is this: There is enough to argue against the Arnold candidacy just on the surface with issues. His lack of experience.....his lack of vision.....the sketchy nature of the recall itself. Digging up dirt really shouldn't be the way they go with this.

Especially given the fact that on most issues Arnold is actually liberal, if Dems in CA or elsewhere go about "digging up dirt" and smearing him with things that if it were a democratic candidate we would decry the smears, then it will look like the only reason we don't like him is because he's a republican. And the personal attacks will only turn people off more to Davis and the CA dems if that is the approach they decide to take.

Emphasize all the valid reasons why Arnold should not be governer. If that's not enough then honestly people deserve what they get. I just don't think in this case the personal smears are the way to go. If it were Issa or someone else who had engaged in such smears themselves then it would be fair game. But Arnold is simply an inexperienced public figure who is playing a dangerous game for himself and his family. If he doesn't smear Davis personally then there's no reason Davis or any dems should do the same first.

Just my opinion, but then again I don't live in CA so it's a moot point.

14. Just heard Chris Matthews on Imus this a.m.
He seems to think that Arnold is now going to have a rough time. He said now he has to answer the big questions and the media that is all over him now will also be all over him asking those questions. He said that just this a.m. on the Today show, Arnold was asked about his income-tax filing which I guess is riddled with all sorts of gimmics and crap and that Arnold just "goofed" around and pretended he couldn't hear the question. But, Matthews, said this is something now as a candidate that he can't get away with. There were things is the same vein that Matthews was heaping on him. Now, that said, the one advantage for Arnold is that this is a wham-bam few week campaign which can hide a lot of things. However, saw the editor of Scramento Bee said that while the court wouldn't allow some of Davis' case, the big part is now in Federal court where this "problems" getting the state ready for a vote in such a short period could come back in favor of Davis and extend the time frame. Thus, the longer the time frame, the more Arnold is going to lose ground.

15. Here's The Bottom Line
So he smoked pot

Who hasn't

So he played hide the bananna with a few willing starlets or some would be willing starlets

So did Ronald Reagan pre Nancy and during his marriage to Jane Wyman.

His father was a Nazi

That's not Arnold's fault.

Arnold can be defeated by demonstrating he's incompetent not evil.

Nuff said........

17. Ah yes. The father..
All of a sudden its irrelevant who or what the daddy was?

Not at Yale.

I thought rightwingnuts ALWAYS stress how important a father is to the "proper" development of a child.

18. I remember seeing a picture of a full-frontal Arnold posing
in his Mr. Universe days. It was a mag for a gay-readership, if I remember right. He claimed he needed the money . . .

Course in California, running a picture of a tumescent candidate might actually HELP him.

22. Arnold the Barbarian (on Arnold's adultery and lechery)
Edited on Fri Aug-08-03 12:08 PM by w4rma
By John Connolly in Premier Magazine
March 2001

Once, he was a box office terminator. But now that Arnold Schwarzenegger has lost some of his muscle in Hollywood, stories of his boorish behavior can no longer be routinely erased. Then again, he'd make a helluva politician. The tabloid press got a nice Christmas present late last year when Arnold Schwarzenegger tore through a day of publicity work in London, promoting his latest film, The 6th Day, which had just opened there. In less than 24 hours, the star was said to have attempted to, as high school boys used to say, cop a little feel from three different female talk-show hosts. The level of consternation expressed by those who received this hands-on treatment from the hulking, Austrian-born international superstar ranged from none whatsoever (Denise Van Outen of The Big Breakfast invites her guests to lie on a bed with her and, hence, probably has a rather elastic definition of what constitutes inappropriate behavior) to irked (on tape, Celebrity interviewer Melanie Sykes looks a little thrown off after Arnold gives her a very definite squeeze on the rib cage, directly under her right breast) to, finally, righteously indignant. Anna Richardson of Big Screen claims that after the cameras stopped rolling for her interview segment, Schwarzenegger, apparently attempting to ascertain whether Richardson’s breasts were real, tweaked her nipple and then laughed at her objections. “I left the room quite shaken,” she says. “What was more upsetting was that his people rushed to protect him and scapegoated me, and not one person came to apologize afterward.”

23. The real dirt is that he isn't fit to be governor and with so many
on the ballot there is NO guarantee he can win anyway inspite of himself. Smearing him will backfire.

We need to FOCUS on the state and turn this into a referendum about Bush. Smearing a popular Hollywood movie star is NOT going to have the effect it had on Clinton.

Comparing him to Jesse Vantura would be a better route and focusing on the fact that while he slams schools out of one side of his mouth, his ballot proposition which MANDATED spending money without creating the oney it was spending is JUST AS FOOLHARDY as any of his criticisms. It forced the state to figure out where to cut in order to fund it.
