North Korea---possible coup attempt?
Since I read the first reports about the train explosions occurying in a trainyard that Kim Jong Il had passed through. He uses many decoy convoys, I am sure, and the potential plotters may have rigged a trap for the wrong one. The fact that reports came that the Army was cutting off communmications (a first step in a major coup detat) to the area---basically a blackout. Honestly we do not know anything really, but I have read enough history to suspect a coup attempt.

But in reality, North Korea's infastructure is among the worst in the world. The country is little more than a slave labor camp. Defects in the train lines, combined with perhaps malfuctioning signals may have played a role in the collision.

I saw an early post claiming this was Bush's work, but if it was, why didn't the North Koreans go on the air rather than institute a blackout--an attempt on any God-King by the heathen Bush could be a major political victory.

The North Korean actions following the blast do not add up to an outside attempt to eliminate Jong Il.

1. I read somewhere that Kim was in China this week.
North Korea is the most messed-up country in the world.

2. If it's not the
worst, it is certainly close. I could make a case for the Sudan being right up there as well.

4. Anyone know the current status/clout of NK's top generals?
Seems to me, that when Kim Jong Il's father died, the top echelon of North Korea's military were running things as much as Kim Jong Il was.

Kim Jong Il seems to have become more prominent as a figure over the last few years. I wonder if this is merely 'PR', or whether he has been grabbing more power from the military's high command over that time?
