A Democratic celebrity to challenge Ah-nulld - How 'bout Jack Nicholson?
Perhaps what we Dem Californians really need is our own celeb/movie star attack! How about a grassroots "Jack Attack" started right here and now. When you're up against the cheating Repukes, sometimes you've really gotta fight fire with fire (how un-Daschle-like)!! If JACK isn't in the mood to stomp the ridiculous Ah-nulld, here's a short list of other prominent actors that could also do the job. There's certainly no shortage of Democrats in Hollywood.

Tom Hanks
Robert DeNiro
Robin Williams
Kevin Costner
Paul Newman
Tom Cruise

19. I love Arianna...
But will celeb loving/ignorant 'Muricans in Calif. choose an intellectual woman over a dumb fucking movie star/jock?? I'm not sure they would. (in fact, I'm rather fearful that they won't!!)

31. not a fan of Arianna
This is probably not fair, but for me, Arianna epitomizes the stereotypical elitist liberal flake. That name, accent and wealth doesn't help either. She annoys me, but that just me.

I really like Loretta Sanchez, a smart woman who knows government and is in touch with average people.

3. Jack is a wonderful actor,
but he is really crazy. Why not Nick Nolte, while you are at it? Actors shouldn't run for office because they can act. They need better credentials to get on the ballot as far as I am concerned.

6. At least he's a wonderful actor. Ah-nulled is a shitty actor and a Repuke
It's totally fucking ridiculous, but perhaps we have to resort to Repuke gimmicks! Or would you rather have Ah-Nulld Repuke Gov of California, helping Bush/Rove carry/steal California??

there is a huge Hispanic vote there that Ahnold doesn't have. I don't know what vote Ahnold has to tell the truth.

Let's not put forward unqualified Democrat candidates merely for the sake of holding a popularity contest with unqualified Republican candidates!

I mean, come on, what's someone like Costner going to do, bore his opponents to death?

13. Thank You!!!
That says it all.

Sorry, but if the state of California is so fu*cking stupid and celebrity crazed that they'll vote for someone without any political experience whatsoever (regardless of political affiliation) just because they're an actor I'd rather they not vote at all in any election that matters.

26. How about a director?
Quentin Tarantino?

I could see Tarantino giving some awesome monologues on Dubya's suppressed homoerotic tendencies, and I'll bet Quentin could give the NAACP the best speech they've ever heard from a white boy!

Now that I'm on this train of thought, how about Samuel L. Jackson? He's possibly the most bad-ass actor I can think of, and 'Murikans would feel really secure with him as commander in chief!

"Your sendin' the special "Wolf" forces into Saudi Arabia? Shit, negro, that's all you had to say!"

--in debates against Dubya, "Say 'fuzzy math' again, I DARE ya! Say 'fuzzy math' one more Goddamn time!!! Oh....I'm sorry, did I break your concentration??!? Is that why you haven't put together one coherant sentence in the last 5 mutherfuckin' minutes? Do they speak english in Texas? ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT?!?!?!?"

Heh, that would be a cool debate. :)

37. I agree Clark/Baldwin
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 09:56 PM by jfkennedy
California is gone the Republicans won it. Focus on 2004. With the 9 we have in now the Republicans will win in 2004 as well.

No one will go to the polls to vote for a politician, but if an actor is involved in acting like a president or vice president, they will go in great numbers to vote, because they will feel like they are going to a movie. Its perception not right or wrong.

The point is the people don’t care about 9/11. They want image and power. General Clark has the image and the power, with someone like Alec Baldwin as Vice President People will want to vote.
