My brother-in-law's battallions' convoy is attacked
(His wife called last night to say that he was okay. Their unit has only been in Iraq a month and the base has been under constant barrage. I feel so bad for the families of the other soldiers. My husband can't stand to watch the news. Every day is a new nightmare.)

One soldier dies of injuries in Mosul attack

By Associated Press, 4/20/2004 22:33

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) A National Guard soldier from Maine was killed and three others were wounded Tuesday when their convoy was attacked in northern Iraq.

The Portland Press Herald, which has a reporter and a photographer embedded with the 133rd Engineering Battalion, reported that one member of the unit was killed, one was seriously injured and two had minor injuries.

A fifth soldier who was not assigned to the battalion also was wounded in the attack.
