Sirius radio now playing Air America! On 125.
They are carrying the full program, unlike XM. It is on 125. We can not figure why we sometimes have to put the antenna outside, and sometimes it works perfectly just by the window?

I also like Sirus Left radio on 143.

2. If you are looking to get Satellite Radio, get Sirius
The competing service, XM:

- is part owned by Clear Channel (Yuck)
- only carries portions of the AmAirRad broadcast day
- has commercials (on some of the music stations vs Sirius which has none)

Sirius runs specials and rebates from time to time. http://www.sirius.com
I was able to add it to my stock car stereo pretty easily.
There are also receivers that you can take with you (i.e. not permanently mounted in the car)

12. I have the JVC plug&play unit
and my friend has the Kenwood. I like his better for the form factor (smaller), but my JVC gets a much better signal. I still haven't figured out how to mount it in the car, it's big enough that it blocks the view of the road when mounted on the windshield. I'll probably end up getting another head unit with a built in Sirius tuner.

3. I got it.
I bought sirius about 3 weeks ago and have it on all the time. I love that they have AAR on now. Siruis Left is a good station on there too. Plus my little boy loves listening to the Kids Stuff station. I recommend it highly.

11. BBC, NPR, NPR Talk, PRI, Bloomberg (for biz)
Lots of good programming. I will never go back to AM/FM in the car (plus you can drive coast-to-coast without changing stations)....

4. YES! YES! YESYESYESYES -- YES!!!!!
I've been with Sirius for a year and loved it in my car so much I got a second unit for my home.

Between Sirius Left and now Air America, the three NPR/PRI streams that has all the NPR talk shows and THIS AMERICAN LIFE ... the amazing music stations (which is going to include a stream featuring Little Steven's Underground Garage) ... the NBA and NFL packages ... and the fact that they aren't owned by EVIL CLEAR CHANNEL as XM is ... Sirius is your choice.

Especially if you also get Dish Network, which is going to get Sirius' music programming and Air America very, very soon.

15. I am new to the issue, but Sirius seems to be better.
I don't think XM carries NPR, Sirius does.

There are several news stations I have not tried. PRI is Public Radio World, I think. WRN is World Radio Network.

BBC, C-Span and CNN radio, Sirius Left.

6. Any word on when Dish Network will carry AAR?
Maybe I best go turn the tellie on and see if it is there already. Get so frustrated with the broken stream on the PC. Can't wait til I can get it on my Dish audio channels, run it through my receiver to my big speakers and open my windows wide so the neighbors can hear something besides 'All Hate & Propaganda All The Time'.

7. Have you checked the signal strength?
You might be getting a terrestrial signal that fades in and out throughout the day. Here in Denver, I don't even use the satellite signal because the terrestrial antenna is always at 100% strength. The antenna is just sitting on the window sill.

Does your display still read "Sports 2"?

9. Yes, it does say Sports 2, even when playing Air America.
What the heck does that mean? Now, I have not really read the directions carefully yet, but hubby says he will soon. LOL We only do that as a last resort.

I guess we will just have to put the antenna outside the window.

8. Something to consider ...
Occasionally, the Majority Report might be preempted by the NHL and NBA playoffs for the next couple weeks. This might be why Air America is on both channels 125 and 126. Fortunately it will not be interrupted after the playoffs until October .
