Drudge has siren up on Woodward Book
Forgive me DU'ers for I have sinned by posting Drudge - but this sounds good. I'll post it all so you don't have to sully your PC's by clicking the link. Last line - ROFLMAO - aren't you glad the grownups are in charge!

ALL BUT ONE SOURCE ANONYMOUS: Woodward interviewed 75 of the people who helped prepare for the attack on Iraq, including President Bush - the only individual who speaks for attribution in the book, PLAN OF ATTACK... MORE...

WOODWARD: CIA thought Saddam had been killed before the ground war even began...

WOODWARD: Foreign dignitary was told of the plans to attack Iraq days before key Bush cabinet members were briefed...

WOODWARD: Top administration officials now barely speak to each other...

2. When this book comes out, no one will step forward
to defend *Bush and his Administration anymore--at least anyone who is an elected Republican. I bet Smirk or Rove can't get many of their good ol' boys in the Senate and the House to take their calls much anymore.

Only the crazy shills like Coulter and Rush will defend them.

The rats are leaving this sinking ship, I believe.

Just watch.

26. well, that will be fun to see
pass the popcorn

I would love to see a Dem majority in the House and Senate and be able to attribute it to *Bush and his arrogant Administration turning the country against them for a while.

4. Excerpts start in WaPo Sunday
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2004/04/01/plan_of_attack.html

Another book investigating the Bush administration's war planning efforts will be out soon, USA Today reports. Plan of Attack by Bob Woodward is due to be excerpted in the Washington Post on April 18. That night, Woodward will also appear on CBS' 60 Minutes.

The book is "being touted by the publisher, Simon & Schuster, as a 'definitive ... behind-the-scenes' account of how the White House planned and managed the Iraq war. Two White House officials said they are concerned about the book, which they expect will reveal internal disagreements about the decision to go to war."

8. With these kinds of books coming out Kerry doesn't need to spend 200 mil
Kerry can sit back and let things take their course for a while. The daily news is better than any ad his campaign could come up with.

11. I agree
the best thing for Kerry to do is stay on message and let these guys dig their own graves. As long as he doesn't do anything really stupid between now and the election, it will be a landslide.

7. did butt-kisser Woodward develop a conscience?
maybe he regrets his sycophantic drivel in "Bush at War" and doesn't want to be seen as a spineless, uncritical shill.

...be a spook first, and anything else second.

When Bush became a threat to the Intel community, Woodward changed his position...

14. "Bush at War" was pretty worshipful, all right.
BUT, Woodward said a lot of the things that Richard Clarke is saying now in that book. Especially interesting were the quotes attributed to Rumsfeld right after 9-11, wanting to hit Iraq.

It didn't raise much of a stir when Woodward said it back then, although I wondered why it didn't. I guess everyone was still shell shocked.

19. One of the Saudi's makes perfect sense, of course.
Of course, Blair would have to have some lead-in time due to the military aspect, but it could well have been a Saudi.
