8. from yesterday: Condi -- "We would have moved heaven and earth"
You know, "Had we known of the danger, we would have moved heaven and earth to prevent it."

lady, how can you say that when you didn't lift a finger?

she used it at least two and maybe three times before the commission. you can be sure it's a phrase some speech-writer came up with. they liked it a lot and told her to squeeze it in whenever she could. They wanted to be sure the right-wing radio jugheads had a sound bite they could use over and over again hoping it would sink in ....

whoever wrote it will get to write a book, just like that 'axis of evil" guy.

12. Mine Own
Read them, O Ye Mighty, and despair --

"Can you say ___ ? (I knew you could.)" ... this is the number-one most-abused cliche here at DU.

... you got(s) a lot o' 'splainin' to do!

Using the word memes instead of ideas.

Using the word testosterone instead of machismo.

Using the word endorphins instead of pleasure.

{Bw|Mw|Bu|Mu}hahaha (and often in caps).

Americans using British Commonwealth spelling (e.g., honour, colour, behaviour, theatre).

Cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, eggs, sausage, and cats. Makes me long for Spam.

I've got more, but I'll spare you.

:)

14. What in the world does "people who hate freedom" mean?
This admin has been saying that for the last few years and it makes absolutely no sense........who doesn't like freedom, why wouldn't they like freedom. Retired General Barry McAffee was asked what it meant and he said..."I have no idea, but I know isn't a lot more complicated than that."

15. The madness of king george
It means that he's totally out of touch with reality. Surrounded by "advisers" who spend their day examining the presidential stool to see what it portends for the future.
