Anyone else think it's weird that Bush is so silent....?

Wouldn't most presidents come on TV and at least make some kind of pathetic plea for public support? He says NOTHING! Meanwhile the country just keeps spinning and getting more confused.

4. Someone pointed out to me....

...that toward the end, Nixon wouldn't appear on TV or say anything publically -- just got real secretive. Let's hope that portends the end.

5. They can't let him talk
because they need the market to not crash. Every time Bush speaks the market tanks.

9. They can't let him speak
because, to quote James Carville (I think), "Every time he ventures down Mount Platitude, his QQ (Quayle Quotient) goes up another click."

6. The man is way out of his league.
He is occupying a position several levels above his Peter Principle ceiling, and as such has absolutely no idea how to handle a situation like this.

21. His biggest mistake was picking Dick Cheney, Wolfie, and Perle, et al.
et al, as his braintrust. Did he get shortchanged. All they can do is create policy that makes them $. I swear, a dumber administration, I've never seen. Totally corrupt and incompetent....a dangerous combination for the world.

22. I think they picked him.
They needed a public face, but one that they could control and
manipulate, who'd be happy with the title and the perks, but not
bother them while they run the country (the world?). He must have
seemed like a dream candidate at the time.

15. "in case you haven't noticed, we're getting our ASSES kicked"
I think that was the line from Aliens.

We're getting our ASSES kicked in Iraq right now, and Afghanistan is starting to crumble, as the Afghan warlords realize now's a great time to strike.

And Bush is "phoning it in" from Crawford. Hell, he's not even doing that. The only thing he's phoning in is his lunch order.

The big question: Where's Cheney? What's HE doing?

19. Good Question and we should all be asking, WHERE IS CHENEY?!?
We want to know, we "his employers" we want to know. Am I off, or are they not supposed to be working for us? John Q. Public, the voters, citizens of this great democracy we are trying so desperately to export to the rest of the world (along with all kinds of WMD's), we want to know who is covering for George on a week's vacation in Crawford, while Iraq is blowing up?

This situation is out of control, period.
