1. Follow the money is always a good rule.
Surprised more don't care, or even know, about the trillions missing from the US Treasury.

Also, remember what the big news was on September 10, 2001? It was Rumsfeld admitting the Pentagon could not account for more than two trillion dollars. What kind of legs do you think that story had the next day?

A trillion here, a trillion there. Pretty soon, you're talking serious money.

2. Yes, it's easy to enlist volunteers in the War on Terrorism
by giving them pallets of fresh US dollars.
Then have that broad brush of national security white-wash it all.

except as a South American word for guinea pig.

My Webster's dictionary gives the expression as "cui bono," from the Latin.
