3. Yeah
And I'm not a big Martha fan. I can't stand her.

But yeah, she broke the law. And should be punished. But worse people get tax breaks.

So Martha should be punished. My suggestion: a very public ceremony where I slap her on the back of her hand and say "Shame on you Martha! Go forth and do no wrong." Maybe not total justice, but good enough.

Khash.

4. You are out of touch!

Think about Janklow; the Congressman who killed a family man on a motorcycle....driving way over the speed limit and noted after many warnings and tickets.....He only got 90 days in a plush work release program. He isn't even with us regulars!

So, Martha has had to fight the corporate male ego all her career promoting a sensational collection of products and education.... and see what folks like you want to do to her.

Get a real life. I see you are practicing your acknowledged hobby.

6. What's your problem with kashka?
He said Martha deserves a very small punishment - that she's a small fish, like in the cartoon.

Are you saying she's completely innocent of everything? That all her behaviour was morally impeccable?

8. I just don't get it
The replies to my post have implied that I condone killing people and that I think Martha is totally innocent.

No to both. Martha is not a killer. She's a fucked up self-important virago who needs a wake up call, but not a killer. Is Martha innocent? No fuckin' way. In fact, they dropped charges that I thought she was dead guilty of. But I don't think Marta's sentence is just. She was not convicted of a violent crime. There are better ways for her to pay off her debt to society without doing jail time.

But here's a question. Why does Martha, admittedly a bitch on wheels but basically a really small time crook, go to jail? When much greater offenders get fucking apologized to. Answer me that. Cuz she's a woman (the feminist slant), doesn't have enough friends in high places (Joe Conason), oh who the hell cares what the other explanations are.

Martha got what guys who rape little kids get. Is this fair? Is it justice? No, not at all.

As for "morally impeccable". I could say what I think about Martha but the moderators would probably delete my post. I just think she's getting shafted.

10. Please explain
what exactly is my aknowledged hobby?

I thought it was listening to Courtney Love while I smashed my head against the wall. But obviously you aren't talking about that.

So what else? Being an asshole. Sure, yeah. Or being a radical sex obsessed pagan faggot who likes girls, a psychologist, sociologist, sociobiologist? A pornographer? A feminist? A guy who kisses trees and kittens and puppies and tarantulas (now there's a hobby for you!) Someone who thinks God invented the world just so He could have a place to put the snakes he invented?

Oh I could go on for days. But you know what my acknowledged hobby is. Tell me. Enquiring minds want to know.

Or is my hobby just enjoying irritating you?

Khash.

11. The worst thing about Janklow
...is that the US Taxpayers are going to have to pay any damage awards made against him.

7. A prison sentence...
is not at all suited for her crime. A fine I can see, but prison time for what she did? Completely unjustified.

Then again, this is the country where child molestors are protected by priests and people that steal candy bars end up in prison for twenty years. I will never understand justice in this country.

9. The only silver lining in all this is
that if Martha's prison sentence is a benchmark, then imagine what the big boys will get when their day comes.

12. Martha has received the ultimate punishment already..
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 11:15 AM by SoCalDem
Her reputation was her most prized possession.. The drive to create that company was not for the money.. It was to PROVE that she, a poor Polish girl from the wrong side of the tracks, could rise to a position of power and influence..

She did it, and it cost her the things that she didn't know she needed(a close family and friends), until it was too late to get them back..

The company WAS her, and SHE, it. Now they are both "ruined" and in the most public of ways.. No mattter how hard she tries, she can NEVER get that back..

Did she do wrong..yup.. Does EVERY OTHER person in her strata do the exact same thing???...yup..

Do we really believe that when the big boys go for a round of golf or to their "gentlemen's clubs", that they avoid all "shop talk"?? Of course not.. That's WHY they do those things.. It's called networking..

Martha was an uppity woman, and they brought her down..

Jail time for Martha is a "not a good thing" for ANYONE..The only reason for it would be to further torment her, and to give the comedians more fodder for their jokes.. That's not what the puropse of jail is.. Jail is to either punish or rehabilitate.. She has already been punished..financially AND personally.. Does she really need rehab?? Does ANYONE think that she's a menace to society??

and as an aside:

Martha is forever silenced...Can anyone ever imagine her hosting and democratic fundraiser, as she used to?? Will anyone even care what her opinion on AYTHING is?? nope.. (unless it's about decorating).. She's too old to be pregnant, but she has had her shoes ripped off and was sent back to the kitchen..where women belong :eyes:
