9 Times??!!??
Talk about a menace, from this absolute loser.

Illinois Man Faces 9th Drunk Driving Charge In Wisconsin

POSTED: 1:14 a.m. EST March 16, 2004

ELKHORN, Wis. -- An Illinois man didn't show up for an initial appearance Monday on his ninth offense of drunk driving.

Joesph F. Balcer, 45, of Schaumburg, Ill., was charged Thursday with operating while intoxicated, a felony, in Walworth County. He also had been issued citations for operating without a valid driver's license and criminal damage to property.

He was arrested Wednesday after allegedly running over some evergreens and hitting a retaining wall on a private driveway off of Highway X in the Darien Township, said county sheriff's Capt. Scott McClory.

1. unfortunately, that's not even close
to the most egregious examples. I've heard of people with over 50 DUI's.

I don't understand how it's possible, but it occurs.

2. I don't doubt it.
I wonder how many DUI's rich, connected jerks like Bush* and Janklow got away with.

4. Ok
Weighing in for someone who has a DUI on his record - from back in my drinking and drugging days. Actually I should have two, but the first time the cops decided to cut me some slack. "He stinks to high heaven of vodka but if I did a breathalyzer it would just really hurt him" the cop did actually say.

I doubt if they'd slammed my ass in jail it would have stopped me drinking - but it sure as hell would have stopped me driving. Although I'm kinda grateful I didn't go to jail, it woulda been a lot easier to take than hurting or killing someone.

I got no sympathy for these guys. And I was one of them. And it's no sort of "conversion-holier-than-thou" deal. You wanna get drunk, go right ahead. Wanna shoot up smack? Hey, I'll steal the needles for you. Everyone has an absolute right to fuck up their own lives. But when you start fucking with other peoples lives, babe, the rules change.

Look, I got no Dads coming home from work mangled because of my studity and selfishness. I got no daughters mowed down and killed because I was so selfish. And that's purely due to blind dumb luck.

This issue makes my blood boil and my skin crawl.

If I ever wanna get drunk again, I'll do it. Probably. But if I do and get behind the wheel of a car or pick up a gun or punch my ex-wife in the face... well, I oughta be taken out to the backyard and shot like a rabid dog.

I detest these men who think it's OK, just boyish behaviour. That excuses jerking off in the bathroom or irritating your girlfriend, but surely not killing someone. Or potentially killing someone.

Any judge who lets someone off should be required to spend, even just a few minutes, with someone who lost a loved one to a drunk driver.

You can't look someone like that in the eye and defend that kind of decision. You just can't.

Khash.

5. Very well said! Thank you.
This guy needs to do a couple of years jail time. It might not give him the motivation to work on his alcoholism, but at least with any luck he'd be physically sober at the end.

7. And if he drinks himself into an early grave
well, it's his choice. But maybe he'll think twice about driving.

3. Don't worry, Mr. Balcer
You can still be president or vice-president someday!
