Just saw a Bush campaign add on TV
It starts "First there was the dot com bust". Then it shows the wreckage of the world trade center. The last part says "America's stronger and safer than ever.......we are about to turn the corner"

Chrissakes old chimpy boy thinks these adds will get him reelected? He must think the average American is as dumb as he is.

1. I think Mr. Vote is worried
that I'm going to shoot out the tv when those ads come on.

Of course, I'd have to buy a gun first... Well, then learn how to load and shoot it... And I'd have to lock up the dogs and cats first... But THEN our televisions would be at risk!

I hope you're right that people won't fall for their crap.

2. He must think the average American is as dumb as he is.
There is little evidence, at least to be had from watching C-SPAN, to controvert that statement.

I give Bush's media people full credit for restraint. I am sure that in the original version of the spot, Clinton's dick slammed into the WTC.

22. I hope the average American is
not as dumb as he is. But, they have been seriously propagandized since the Ray-gun years and considerably dumbed down.

3. We must protest the corporate media
To air the MoveOn ads. The RNC is breaking out their lawyer sue machine to stop them.

19. MoveOn Ads
We need to stop these attacks on MoveOn.com and the threat to freedom of speech.

4. i dont want to diss you...
... but i do suspect the "average american" is a little on the slow side, not for any intellectual shortcomings, but because of apathy.
she/he would care more about britney spears' bra size than about the trillion dollar budget deficit.
which is why advertisements are so important. in these times, spin the message right, and even a pig can be sold as a president.

5. I hope to God all this "stronger and safer" stuff doesn't
goad anybody into another attack anytime soon. I really don't' see how he can say we're "safer." No-one is ever safe from terrorism and he has done nothing to "kill the roots," so to speak, instead he has fed them. I don't know. That kind of talk just makes me nervous as hell.

Just wondering what states they're working on.

We went from riding the high tech boom to fighting with Oregon over who has the highest unemployment.

15. yeah, I'm kinda surprised.
I figured Washington would be pretty solidly democratic, like California.

Oh well, he's gotta spend those $$ somewhere. Classic republican trickle-down. Gee, maybe some of the piss will land on my face!

I haven't seen the one with the coffin since last night. Today it was with Pickles. It said 'I know how to bring peace to the world. I know how to create jobs. I know what education needs, ad nauseum.

Whoohoo! A moveon ad just came on while I was writing. It's about taking away our overtime. Ended with "George Bush is not on our side"

edit. I've seen the Moveon ads and both NBC and ABC now.

I actually about burst a gut when I read that!

I don't know whether to laugh more, or just to puke.

Here's his idea of bringing peace to the world:

8. Wasn't the MoveOn ad denied by CBS because it was too controversial?
Isn't campaigning using flag-draped remains controversial?

17. But it's certainly thoughtful

of him to remember the horrors of the dotcom bust, which so many have forgotten after WTC, isn't it? I'm pretty sure most Americans have been wondering how long it would take * to remember the dotcoms. Now he has!
