More proof US was warned about 9/11

German trial hears how Iranian agent warned US of impending al-Qaida attack

Ben Aris in Berlin
Saturday January 24, 2004
The Guardian

The United States was warned of impending September 11 terrorist attacks by an Iranian spy, but ignored him, German secret service agents testified yesterday in the trial of an alleged al-Qaida terrorist.

The spy, identified as Hamid Reza Zakeri, tried to warn the CIA after
leaving Iran in 2001, but was not believed, two German officers who interviewed him told the Hamburg court.

Zakeri worked in the department of the Iranian secret services responsible for "carrying out terrorist attacks globally", one of the officers said.

Prosecutors called the spy as a surprise witness against a Moroccan man, Abdelghani Mzoudi, who is on trial for being a key aide to three of the September 11 hijackers.

He is said to have handled money, covered for absences by members of the al-Qaida cell based in Hamburg and trained in an Afghan al-Qaida camp himself.

1. Would it be easy to get the idea that an awful lot was ignored?

2. Ummmm.....
"Zakeri worked in the department of the Iranian secret services responsible for "carrying out terrorist attacks globally", one of the officers said."

Ummmmm......

Doesn't this suggest that the Iranian Government was/is actively involved in planning and carrying out terrorist attacks around the world?

And, if that is the case, then wouldn't the trigger-happy folks in the US Administration be able to use this information in an attempt to pre-emptively attack/invace Iran???

3. Is the 9-11 Commission interested in taking Zakeri's testimony?
Nah, I doubt it. It might confuse them.

4. Here's another link to a post today regarding FBI warning pile-up
They want to blame FBI bureaucratic politics to gain a bigger budget, but it could certainly be an administration operative who is hiding the real reason for keeping the warnings from getting into the WH.

5. There were several FBI agents hot on the flight school students
aspect of the pre 9/11 law-enforcement world, just like there were many factual warnings from several other nations-whereas today there are reports from Florida about FBI intimidation of witnesses, like Atta's American girlfriend.

7. Yep, it really pisses me off that this administration is setting
our CIA and FBI up to be play the incompetents/faceless "don't give a shit" bureaucrats when it is damn clear to me that this administration was working overtime to keep any official paper trail from entering the WH. The institutional damage that these criminals are laying on this country is unbelievable.

That's why the August briefing is the smoking gun. That info was never meant for public consumption. It kills the whole Condi lie "we never imagined that they'd fly planes into buildings".

Last I heard Condi was fighting like hell to stop from going under oath in front of the 9/11 commission.....I think this is where the whole ball of lies will start to get unraveled.

8. I wish...
"The testimony at the Hamburg trial could
heap more embarrassment on the US
state department and secret services,
which have denied allegations that they
were forewarned of the attacks."

Unfortunately, they have no shame and
therefore are unable to feel embarrassment.
They continue to exhibit outrageous arrogance
and absolutely no responsibility for their actions,
or in this case, lack of.
