6% more americans are in poverty
than when bush took office. He left that out of SOTU.

Perhaps the democratic opposition should set up a religious charity to locate all homeless people in the USA on the washtington mall, so that the issue is a tad more visible. Then, with the vast tent city of the underclass nearby, the fucks on capital hill can drive their limosines around the tent city like roman emperors.

6% is 18 million people... its time they were more visible.

1. But wait! Didn't they change the poverty criteria?
I remember reading here that they changed the poverty threshold from $16,500 to $14,900 so that more people then became classified as 'living above the poverty line'. I think about 4 million people became reclassified as a result.

I will search for a link to substantiate that ...
