Poll question: Who will watch the State of The Union address?
Not me, because:

1) Whenever w* is on TV, my 2-year-old daughter's vocabulary increases in undesirable ways.

2) It'll consist of a bunch of lies, starting with, "Ladies and Gentleman, the President of the United States".

4. Not me
Can't stand to watch the ... person

I'd really like to see two things happen before the SOTU:

1. I'd like to see some prominent Democrats say they aren't listening to the speech becasue "He lied his way through the last one why would this one be any different?"

2. I'd like to see Congressional Democrats boycott the speech or not attend because of "previous committments".

7. I always watch
He's a repuke but still the President.

He'll lie and smirk making me completely embarrassed that he's the president but he's still the president.

He stole the job but he's still the president.

I am an American then a Democrat and then a Howard Dean supporter in that order.

I will not be like those that put the repub party above their country.

I may hook up my antenna for this. It's about time I got rid of that bottle of champagne in the fridge left over from New Year's. Also, I might enter the Bartcop contest.

What will be the key words? Mars? Moon base? Or the same old boring: Terra? Enemies of freedom? Weapons of mass destruction? Weapons of terra? Evildoers? Billions of dollars?

Same here, granny! Can't watch him, can't listen to him. Have to change the channel, otherwise I would start throwing things at the TV or drive off the road if he's on the radio.

I do appreciate the amazing fortitude of others who listen to him, then report back here.

15. I'm actually going to a city council meeting.
Our freeper poor-folk hating mayor wants to remove a lot of low income housing. They claim they will replace it -- but that isn't in the plan they've proposed. He and his cronies want to run the low income folks out of town in favor of development.

You may have seen our fine mayor on a 60 Minutes spot a few months ago. Mesa AZ -- the mayor and his buds were declaring imminent domain and attempting to seize the property of Bailey's Brake Shop, a family business that has been in the same location for 30 years.

They want to revitalize downtown (get real, folks, there's nothing in downtown Mesa) and condemed the older businesses. They want to allow a hardware store to build on that site. Bailey refused to sell his land, filed a lawsuit, etc. The city wants to seize his land and sell it to a "prettier" business.

Here's the catch: the mayor now says he doesn't think the city should take Bailey's shop -- but he has voted for this very thing at every turn.

Lying liar.

20. Once Upon a Time
there was a president everyone called the "Great Communicator". I couldn't stand listening to him, but all around me everyone was talking about what a "Great Communicator" the president was. So come SOTU time, I decided I would sit down, focus, and really try to see what was what. I felt that I simply must have been missing something, and I needed to learn to "get with it" so to speak.

The senile old fool talked for a good five minutes and NEVER SAID A DAMNED THING. I left the house in a rage and walked for two hours before I was fit to be around humans again. It was the most infuriating thing I ever saw on TV. The so-called speech was a string of empty phrases that literally didn't mean diddly.

I'd much rather listen to Ray Gun than Bunnypants. Political awareness does not require masochism.

You may not like the teams, but you still watch.
Last year's 18 little words did cost the President some popularity points. If he can slip in 9 more this year, he is toast.
I will be watching and I will pay attention. Just in case something falls through the cracks.

25. Probably not
He may not be the real President, but he's the closest thing we have. But on the other hand I cannot stand sight nor sound of that little weasel. When his voice comes on the radio, I turn it down until he's through attempting to string a complete sentance together. I'm afraid I might throw a remote through the TV if I tried to watch the SOTU speech.

Besides I already know the State of the Union: bad & getting worse and there is no chance of improvement until * is kicked out of the White house.

39. AARP and the State of the Union Address
Is everyone out there aware that AARP is sending 5 members from EACH state to DC tomorrow for the State of the Union Address? They will not be in the gallery, for obvious reasons, but at the DC Marriott watching on a special closed circuit feed from the Capitol. I thought AARP was supposed to be non-partisan? Now then, does anyone not belive that AARP is in the back pockets of the Republican Party? This is true because I have friends who were chosen to go from my state and they are pro-Bushers!
