In the middle of 2003, a group of foreign policy experts were concerned about the direction America was heading. This group rightly says that Bush is leading America into the next world empire.
Who is this group of "foreign policy experts"? A majority of them are from the world of academia, but some have served in Congress and in Washington Think Tanks.
There are liberals, moderates, and conservatives. There are both multi-lateralists and isolationalists. However, the most important thing is that they are not neo-conservatives.
Some of the foreign policy experts:
- Mike Gravel, Former Democratic U.S. Senator from Alaska
- James Kurth, Swarthmore College
- Barry R. Posen, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
- Christopher Preble, Cato Institute
- Jon Utley, Americans Against World Empire
- Gary Hart, Former Democratic U.S. Senator from Colorado
- Doug Bandow, Former Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan

hereThere are two important things about this group. They are:
- Opposed to the foreign policy agenda and neo-conservatives of the Bush administration.
- Are creating an alternative foreign policy agenda that is workable and realistic. They can't just be a group that complains about the Bush administration.
I have concerns about what they formulating since they come from such a wide spectrum of foreign policy views, but I trust that they will put out something reasonable. They also have a website that you can look at
hereFor those of you in the Philly region, they will be having a panel at Swarthmore College. Find out more about it
