I think we need to find every instance of the admin knowlingly lying to Congress and then spam our Congressmen with it.

5. It might be good to attempt to introduce them.

That would help the candidates. Get Ted Kennedy to do it.

Edit: TK can't do it. Has to be in the House. I'm forgetting my Constitution.

or we'll oust them both.

it's a win-win situation!

4. I'd love to see it, but it's too close to the end of his time
in the white house. Unless he engineers to have the next election handed over to him, and he serves again; then we'll have time to call for impeach. but with only a few months left, and a dem minority in the house, there's no way they'll try an impeachment.

We could, however, push all our legislators to make sure and guarantee that as Shrub leaves the white house next Jan. 21, he walks through the front door for the last time and is taken straight to the Hague, where the US will have asked for war crimes trials to take place.

And we'll have them the rest of the Bush family, Rove, Cheney, and the rest of those criminals.

I live for the day of seeing all these criminals - and cowards - cravenly begging leniency from the court in crying, choking sounds on their knees in the great Hague courtroom.

But that's just me. Your mileage may vary.

29. I agree/disagree
It is too late to get him out of office - this term. Not too late to keep him from getting another one. Hearings will keep him busy as heck defending himself, wasting time with lawyers vs. spending those hundreds of mil he raised campaigning. Look how it occupied Clinton. Days of hell as Congress and the press feed on him will also draw voters in anger to the ballot box.

Personally, I think he's a wimp and can't take the pressure. He'll crack at some point and be gone. Nixon was in deep doo-doo on the revelations, but he was put to political death by the hearings.

As for (yuck!) President Chaney, who said he isn't going to be in the docket with Bush? Both guilty for this, so get them both. Make history. Now, President Hastert? Not for long (if ever). Repubs would go down left and right in the next election.

11. Let's make up a nice list of 10 with full evidence.
Then have everyone use them as talking points for letters to Congressmen.

10. We should also remind Congress that the world
now knows that this administration lied, not just to us but to the world and it will be watching the US government and people to see what response we take. After what this country did to Clinton over an alleged lie and the whole rule of law hysteria, the world has every right to expect Congress to act in response to this info.

14. Letter to my congressman, lotta good this will do, hah.
Dear Representative Dreier,

I am writing to express my dismay and disgust sparked by the recent comments made by former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill concerning the administration. I encourage you to call for a Congressional investigation into the veracity of these comments and to recommend what actions, if any, Congress should pursue in this case.

Thank you.

15. he needs to be indicted, not impeached
they all need to be arrested and thrown in jail.

For lying to congress and starting an illegal war based on those lies.

For 495 counts of manslaughter (as of today) or at least "wrongful death".

For untold countless thousands counts of manslaughter for all the Iraqis who were killed.

Where is the lawyer willing to do this?

18. For criminal charges you have to impeach and convict first.
You can try him in a civil court though.

21. or wait until he no longer occupies the white house
and becomes a civilian. Then we can try the SOB.

But yes, so long as that usurper coup-engineering anti-illectual freak occupies the white house, we can't try him for anything, since a president is immune to criminal charges. We have to impeach first.

Still, as I said earlier, I'd prefer to wait until he's a civilian again, and let him taste 12 seconds of freedom - as he walks through the front door of the WH on his way out - before sending him off to the Hague.

23. You could do that, yes
And I'm no lawyer, but seems to me that anything truly serious, that's worth that asshole going to jail, wouldn't be available as a civil suit - I'm thinking AWOL, war crimes, lying to the american people, etc. Those should all be felonies or treason or something, yes?

I have almost no understanding of law, so I'm looking for clarification, as opposed to offering an opinion.

24. Lying to Congress is illegal.
We have to prove he knew he was lying. That's hard because these guys are good at covering there rearends.

I'm more concerned with the publicity than actually getting him impeached which prob won't happen.

19. It will NOT happen in an election year, BUT hear me out:
It MAY be something to keep in our back pockets if, God forbid, we loose the presidential election in 2004 but manage to get enough spined democrats in congress. It may be that the Bush presidency would enter a second term so wounded, it would go belly up before the term ended.

Now, I highly, highly doubt that, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Exactly. If the bastard makes it past the Nov. elections, the Repub House and Senate memeers will bleed for it in the elections of 2006.

Still worth it!

If we only had Dems on the Hill with some backbone and "Kill 'em" mentality.

you use the documents for a basis for an investigation, then you start calling in the witnesses and other documents to build the case

27. We don't.
I put no more trust in O'Neill than I have any former WH insider or cabinet member who's ever come out with tell-tale books or who spent their time hitting the Talk Show circuit. I don't care if he's got 50 billion documents and a live video feed, he's just another disgruntled ex-employee with an axe to grind. Outside of DC and political junkies, this means nothing, which is exactly how I and millions upon millions of my fellow Americans are going to treat it.

Focus.

Have you forgotten who controls congress? Are you aware of how impeachment works? Now sober up and give a realistic plan of how you are going to get a conservative Republican controlled congress to impeach a Republican president. (I'm NOT holding my breath waiting for it.)
