Study shows legalizing Cannabis Reduces Traffic Deaths
DENVER -- A new study found that laws legalizing medical marijuana have resulted in a nearly 9 percent drop in traffic deaths and a 5 percent drop in beer sales.
"Our research suggests that the legalization of medical marijuana reduces traffic fatalities through reducing alcohol consumption by young adults," said Daniel Rees, professor of economics at the University of Colorado Denver.
The study was co-authored by D. Mark Anderson, assistant professor of economics at Montana State University.

The study is the first to examine the relationship between the legalization of medical marijuana and traffic deaths, researchers said.

3. Well, there's one of the reasons
it's not legal.. There's a lot of money in alcohol sales and a very powerful lobby.

6. And that's why it will never...........
be legalized on a national scale. There's too much money being made by the for-profit prison industry, the pharmaceutical companies, the liquor companies, law lobbies, and a host of other industries who get rich from the enforcement of archaic marijuana laws. They don't care about the human and ethical aspects of legalized marijuana, just the financial aspects. Our members of Congress have been bought and paid for by these rich and powerful lobbies, and they're expected to keep the status quo.
Our government acts as if they're concerned about the drug violence in Mexico. They really could care less. As long as the cartels do their dirty work on the Mexican side of the border, everything is AOK with Washington.

7. Logical fallacy here
There is no cause and effect relationship demonstrated. However, legalization clearly does not make things worse, and that's good news all by itself.
