Teen dies after U.C. Police tasing
CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati Police are investigating after an 18-year-old died shortly after being tased by an officer early Saturday morning.

According to U.C.P.D., officers responded to a report of a fight on campus outside of Turner Hall around 3 a.m. Saturday.

<snip>

One person approached officers and was warned to stop approaching at the risk of being tased, police said.

When he did not stop, police say, he was tased and cuffed.

2. A friend of a friend of my granddaughter
He was just a kid into sports, not a drinker or partaker of drugs. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, probably trying to tell the cops what happened. He just graduated from high school in June and he was very well loved.

5. Taser has lost 3 lawsuits now.
Also, Taser is in the red on their books for the year.

It is FAR past time to take these portable electric chairs away.

8. Agree - it's way past time to ban tasers.
Cops cannot be trusted to use them responsibly, and besides, they're supposed to be a NON-deadly weapon, which is too often not the case.
