Rand Paul volunteer faces charge after scuffle outside debate
A volunteer for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul faces a fourth-degree assault charge after the man stepped on the head of a liberal activist when she tried to pull a political stunt on Paul Monday evening.

Police said Tuesday that a criminal summons would be served on Timothy Profitt, 53, of Bourbon County.

Profitt told the Herald-Leader that he was concerned the woman was trying to attack Paul and acted only to subdue her.

1. Why aren't they looking for the evil woman who stepped on her?
She walked on her while the other two were stomping her.

6. There was another man there
who stepped on her right thigh. He's on the right of the video, steps on her in the very beginning, keeps his foot on her, between her thighs as she's lying on the ground. They should all be charged.

As for him thinking she was going to harm Paul, that's a crock. Moveon had been there all week. According to her, they knew exactly who she was. He also said he took action because the police wouldn't. That makes him a vigilante, and he should be charged for that as well.

This brownshirt thuggery needs to stop. Maybe some hard time will send a message that it's not open season on dems.

4. it wasn't a scuffle. It was assault. A scuffle involves fighting back
and holding your own. A scuffle is somebody shoves somebody, that somebody shoves back, possible escalates into smallish fight.

In an assault, somebody physically attacks somebody else, and that somebody else either doesn't fight back or is overwhelmed by the force against them.

Why do they keep calling this a scuffle?

5. So she's a threat and those teabaggers wearing guns at political rallies aren't?...

O---tay!... Then they'll say something like "But do you really want to start arguing with someone that's holding a gun?" as a defense for them doing so.

Maybe, she should have been carrying a gun like they have been so that she could defend herself. Though part of me wonders what would happen if just one of us were with a gun in a situation like hers. A war would certainly be starting then.

7. Glenn Beck's wet dream.
It would fulfill his prophecy that the violence is going to come from the Left. No doubt he'd declare himself God. He already has a cult following.

9. Ideologically. She was THIS close to making him think.
So, naturally, he reacted out of fear and lashed out.

10. Clearly she was attacking his boot with her face
At least in Freeperville. Plus they are now claiming she was a Squeaky Fromme wannabe.

11. Wait a minute ...
Edited on Wed Oct-27-10 11:02 AM by Kweli4Real
Earlier reporting of the "foot stomping" incident had it where the paul supporter had her "foot stepped on" ... Now it was "intentionally" stepped on.

Can you say false equivalency?
