Robert Reich (HuffPo) - "The Defining Issue: Who Should Get the Tax Cut?"
Who deserves a tax cut more: the top 2 percent -- whose wages and benefits are higher than ever, and among whose ranks are the CEOs and Wall Street mavens whose antics have sliced jobs and wages and nearly destroyed the American economy -- or the rest of us?

Not a bad issue for Democrats to run on this fall, or in 2012.

Republicans are hell bent on demanding an extension of the Bush tax cut for their patrons at the top, or else they'll pull the plug on tax cuts for the middle class. This is a gift for the Democrats.

But before this can be a defining election issue in the midterms, Democrats have to bring it to a vote. And they've got to do it in the next few weeks, not wait until a lame-duck session after Election Day.

1. Had the Democrats the Wit to Use It!
Sadly, I don't expect such miracles will be coming off in the near future, if ever.

2. The wealthy will get the same tax cut on the first $250k as everyone else.
So they are in no way being left out cold.

3. Who gets a tax cut???
Let ALL the tax cuts expire. We can't afford it as a nation. We're talking TRILLIONS of dollars over a ten year period. A much better idea, if we absolutely intend to spend that much, would be to hire people to rebuild/ maintain our crumbling infrastructure. Middle class tax cuts only amount to a few hundred dollars a year for people lucky enough to have a job. I, for one, would be happy to forgo a tax cut if it would put people back to work. Anyone making more than $250,000 doesn't need a tax cut. All this bullshit talk about WHO deserves a tax cut ignores the fact that nobody does. We're in hock up to our eyeballs and we need to do something about it NOW.
