2. Haha.
I don't suppose Glenn's fans realize how little research actually goes on at his show these days.

4. It was great watching
Beck's head explode when Massa insisted on talking about his (repressed homosexual) adventures at sea instead of bashing the White House as he apparently expected. My favorite line:

"I've got the shovel -- just tell me where to throw the dirt!"

(crickets)

If Beck had handled it remotely like a pro, no one would have noticed. Instead he rolled his eyes, held his head in his hands, and ended "apologizing" to his audience.

Just beautiful.

5. Beck was just too stupid to run with the ball
I hope Cronkite & Murrow did not see that

6. Boy, I have all kinds of conflicted feelings about this stuff.
I can't help but enjoy Beck's helplessness and near panic, but at the same time there's something clearly awful going on with Massa and, though it's easy to take pot shots at someone who appears to be protesting Waaaaaaay too much, I genuinely feel bad for anyone who might be conflicted and in pain about his sexual orientation. Then there's this whole sexy/gay/military vibe that's simultaneously appealing in fantasy and awful in all its discriminatory glory in the real world.

Complicated stuff, but I have to admit unalloyed delight at watching Beck twist in the wind!
