Republicans are still running the U.S.
What will it take to get the country back on track after the 8 year blitz of deregulation and tax cuts that left the country in an economic shambles? Perhaps it is time for President Obama and Democratic leaders to remember that the American people voted for them in November.

Please see the entire article here and leave comments if you have time.

let the other kids have some fun.

3. I was tempted
I was tempted to put that in my article's title but was trying to write more ehrm, somberly if you know what I mean. I got so much hate commenting (on my Examiner articles) yesterday that I made an effort to be civilized.

5. maybe it's time then
Maybe we've been giddy from celebrating the Obama win but now the Republicans seem to be back in charge. Watch MSNBC or Cnn and you'll see they're all talking to Mitch McConnell and other losers from the GOP about the stimulus package while Obama is busy courting the very same people. I'm tired of hearing from the GOP. Bipartisanship only works if the other side will play with you. The other side is stuck in the past so let's move on.

7. Indeed they are. Amazing. If I had not seen the last 30 years with my own eyes,
I would not believe it possible.

As I have said before, there is no question that, minus the violence and overt terror (and I'm not knocking that, believe you me) we now understand what it must have been like to oppose the relentless Nazis.

Guess we should all be glad that, for the moment, we are still minus the violence and overt terror from our Bushie Masters.

But it's coming. 95% chance, unless Obama is the man we need him to be AND very lucky.

No more than 50 years out, possibly 25 or less.

Can't you feel it?

I have been holding out hope for Obama and going up and down like a roller coaster. But mostly it is vain hope that continues to pull me up for another round of "Lucy is gonna let Charlie Brown kick the football THIS time."

Then reality kicks in. Nothing has changed. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it a hundred, a thousand times over...

8. Argh
I wish some of you would comment on my Examiner article page ( http://www.examiner.com/x-1172-Birmingham-Progressive-Politics-Examiner~y2009m2d5-Republicans-are-still-running-the-United-States ) because there's a crazy woman who rants about how horrible the Democrats are on most of my articles. She says she's an independent but she's a typical right wing nut. Sometimes her comment is as long as my articles.

Here is what she wrote today:

"How soon Dems forget, you guys own Congress, the House and the Oval Office, so if your brilliant $920 million stimulus isn't working, you only have yourselves to blame! Sorry, but I hardly see how the majority of what is in the stimulus pkg will stimulate anything other than the greedy pockets it will soon fill!! Congress, Corporations and let's not forget Hollywood! We must get the Hollywood Producers out of those soup kitchens, it is shameful! And as for Congress, what a shame they had to have a weekend retreat in that horrible resort, the American people should be ashamed that we only gave enough campaign contributions and taxes, to afford such a shack, and they had to rough it for the weekend!"

And then she went into a long rant about Congress. So if anybody has time and feels the inclination, please go to my article and say something back.

Thanks,
Karen

10. She's probably a right wing nut and some sort of Republican party shill...
There are three or four regulars who spout right wing talking points in LTTEs to The Decatur Daily.
They pop up like clockwork, one of them every week or ten days; actually, I suspect they are the same person using different names so they can get published more often. Whether they are just dedicated Rush loons or Republican party "operatives" of some sort is anybody's guess.
Good to see another Alabamian here-- I'll check out your article.

9. Pukes still own the news and the megachurches.
That's where we have to stop them.
