Putin-Dell slapdown at Davos
...

Then it was time for questions. First up: Dell. He praised Russia's technical and scientific prowess, and then asked: "How can we help" you to expand IT in Russia.

...

Putin's withering reply to Dell: "We don't need help. We are not invalids. We don't have limited mental capacity." The slapdown took many of the people in the audience by surprise. Putin then went on to outline some of the steps the Russian government has taken to wire up the country, including remote villages in Siberia. And, in a final dig at Dell, he talked about how Russian scientists were rightly respected not for their hardware, but for their software. The implication: Any old fool can build a PC outfit.

5. If that's the man who owns Dell, I sure hope so. They were selling Dell computers in the UK -
probably still are - over the phone - by staff located in a country thousands of miles away, where the labour was much cheaper. The cheap, globalising low-lifes! You can't blame Putin for scorning a lesson in irresponsible, capitalist cheapness from the likes of Dell, if he is that CEO.

3. Pootie sure was feelin' his oats, no? He's been pretty snooty ever since
we became just another third world debtor nation. I surely hope that he doesn't try this shit diplomatically.

BUT that Dell guy, he did have it coming, didn't he?

Right from scratch. Not that I, personally, would know "scratch" from a hole in the ground.

Putin is stupid enough to do his chicken walk (rhymes with Chickenhawk) trying to strut Russia into a great power again. But then these are people who put up giant photomontages (very socialist realist) of their (male) political enemies wearing drag (women's lingerie to be exact, they didn't include forgeries of (giving) blowjobs at least in the content the polite int'l media relayed) at youth rallies in the woods where they invited loyal Russian teens to get together for campfires, cultivation of reactionary hate, and fucking in garlanded boats in the middle of a lake to make babies for Mother Russia. It's all so circa 1910, ya know.

So who gives a fuck what Pooty says, other than to the extent necessary to neutralize his influence ? Douchebags and tools...

9. Peres promotes Dell center in Jerusalem:
Peres promotes Dell center in Jerusalem: Peres to Michael Dell: I invite you to set up a world-class laboratory in this field in Jerusalem. Dell to Peres: Mr. President, I pick up the gauntlet.

Jan 29, 2009 (Globes - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL) founder and CEO Michael Dell may soon decide to expand the company's operations in Israel. Dell today met President Shimon Peres at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and Peres invited him to set up an R&D and business center in Jerusalem that will focus on interactive learning methods.

Dell told Peres, "Mr. President, I pick up the gauntlet."
Dell and Peres agreed that the President's office will submit to Dell a list of the Israeli companies in the sector, and Dell will then examine how to promote the idea.

One of Dell's largest recent projects is the computerization of classrooms in Mexico at a cost of $800 million. Dell has expressed interest in running similar projects in other countries. Peres told Dell, "I invite you to set up a world-class laboratory in this field in Jerusalem. Israel has leading companies in the computer peripherals industry."
