I Love the Smell of (Palin/McCain) Desperation in the Morning
The top of the Palin/McCain ticket, Sarah Palin, is going negative a full 30 days before the election. First, the timing is a sign of desperation. And usually campaigns send the bottom of the ticket out with the negative campaigning, not the superstar, as they are doing with Palin. This is desperation, and it won’t work.

2. I believe the public is already tired of the McCain tactics.
McCain's un engaged performance at the first debate and his lies that are being exposed by fact checking org's have worn the electorate out. He may win a few voters with this tactic but I believe it won't be many.

Palen has to overcome her fem-fatal image and sniping at Obama will no do it. It will seem catty given her performance in the debate and her tendency to hide behind Daddy McCain. She would actually have to say something substantive to give herself any credibility at this point. She is doing the women's movement more harm than good.

3. Palin is in charge, and they are tired of those tactics, too.
McCain ceded control of the campaign to the pit bulls

5. OK
The problem here is as they go negative they will only succeed in driving up their own negatives among the group they must appeal to, the independents.
