"For Working Moms, 'Flawed Palin' Is the Perfect Choice"
Marc Fisher, The Washington Post
September 11, 2001

The crowd wasn't as big as reported by authorities, and what the women attendees have to say on why they're for Palin is pretty scarey.

2. They complain in-between elections, and then vote Repub again.

Doing the same thing as before, but expecting a different result... definition of insanity.

This year may be different though. Lots of the people there at the rally yesterday, I suspect, might've been recruited from several huge churches in the area.

Strangely enough, Maryland right next door, is always reliably blue. (So is D.C., but most of its population is African American.)

5. Stop! You need to keep current, Virginia is becoming more diverse - 45% for Kerry in 2004.
Because we are on "the edge of the north" of Virginia, democrats are still the minority BUT there has been a growing influx of progressive people increasing our numbers over the past decade. Further there are enclaves of progressive thought, many within the fair city of Fredericksburg.

Please don't be so quick to judge us all? We're going to turn Virginia blue for Obama come November. :-) :hi:

6. While That May Be True
There are more Dems moving in to the state. While VA has a way to go, two my of neighbors have McCain signs on their lawns which are next to foreclosed homes (dense), there is hope and things are starting to change.

3. Northern VA is fairly progressive and is somewhat young
It does have a lot of military families and vets though, so that might help McCain out some.

4. Yes, my local paper's photographer captured the crowd in all its varied shades of WHITE.
