Peter Hitchens and Suzanne Moore of the UK Daily Mail advise Anthony Blair...
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 03:43 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
concerning his new, self-appointed, pan-religious role :

Hitchens:

"Anthony Blair announces that he wants to spend most of his remaining years 'ensuring that religion is seen as a force for good’.
It’s a noble aim, Mr Blair, and, if you really mean it, here’s my suggestion as to how you can achieve it most easily and effectively. Convert to atheism, today if possible."

Suzanne Moore, in similar vein:

"Tony Blair wants to spend the rest of his life promoting understanding between world religions and has talked about how his Christian faith gave him strength to make tough decisions. I'm sorry? Is this a sick joke? Where will the centre of his new inter-faith foundation be? Basra?

anything. Some of you even look up to the grotesquely limited, secular fundamentalist - recently it seems somewhat reformed - Richard Dawkins, as a God!

3. Blair reminds me of Chuck Colson who "got religion" after he served time
for Watergate. Only, sadly, Tony Blair is doing it backwards...hoping his conversion will save him from doing time...if folks accept his new found hiding behind the cross.

He can't hide the blood of innocents on his hands by running around claiming he's been saved...that blood will never wash off.
