The Right is so Wrong
Conservatives shoot first and ask ask questions later. And boy, do they ever love to cast the first stone.

By Jim David
Friday, August 12, 2005

<snip>

Rove might be the most divisive man in America, but he has a point: Conservatives are inherently more violent than liberals.

<snip>

Every time an anti-bullying
measure comes up in a public school, designed to simply prevent kids from getting beaten up, conservatives try to stop it, accusing the measure of being a covert way of promoting homosexuality. Better to let the kids fend for themselves, like a good conservative.

When was the last time a liberal burned a cross on someone’s lawn, lynched a black person, or blew up a gay bar? Why are conservatives more violent? Some suggest that the conservative mindset is more resistant to change, is less tolerant of differences, and wants to preserve the status quo at all costs.

Or perhaps it’s that conservatives are more prone to living in fear. Some say they simply don’t like anyone but people like themselves and see everyone else as a threat. All evidence suggests that conservatives desperately need enemies in order to bolster their own viewpoints.

1. Your last paragraph says it all.
Living in fear. The party of fear has been the moniker of the gop for as long as I can remember and it's only gotten worse.

3. They are slaves to their own fear;
hence the "bully" persona needed to survive it. They use fear as a weapon against their opposition, and a tool to manipulate the masses.

When a significant mass of us can let go of fear, we will have emasculated them.

2. It's A Combination of Mental and Moral Illness
and isolation from the greater society and culture. Given a chance to evaluate facts, healthy people come about. Sick ones can't. Evil ones won't.
