Dozens killed in Iraq unrest
From correspondents in Baghdad, Iraq
November 18, 2004

DOZENS of people, many of them women and children, were killed or wounded in attacks across Iraq overnight amid reports that more than 60 Iraqi policemen have been kidnapped.

The policemen were seized on Monday as they returned from training in Jordan, one of only two men who managed to escape the ambush said.

They were staying in a hotel near the Jordanian border in western Iraq when they were attacked by a group of up to 20 armed men, said the policeman from the southern town of Karbala.

"We were around 65 policemen returning from training in Jordan when around 20 masked gunmen entered our hotel Sunday morning (local time) in Trebil," he said.

1. ummm this passes for 'training' in 2004?
65 policemen taking hostage by 20 armed men?
Did I read that right?
How can they keep order if they can't even prevent their own abduction?

3. The neocons' version of "freedom" and "democracy" and,...
,...all that bullsh*t.

Aren't those neocons just such compassionate, loving, giving people?

Hope they get precisely what they give,...don't you?
