WASHINGTON (AFP) - The US official leading Washington's hunt for Iraq 's supposed weapons of mass destruction narrowly escaped being killed by a suicide bomber this week, although the bomber killed two security guards in his security convoy, according to CBS News.

CBS said Charles Duelfer, leading the US hunt for Iraq's WMD, was travelling in a convoy on Monday between Baghdad and the international airport when a suicide bomber in a car tried to ram his convoy.


"Duelfer was travelling in the second vehicle of a four vehicle convoy," it said, adding that the suicide bomber's car "was cut off by the security guards who were following in a chase car."


"Killed two in chase car ... destroys my car. Where do they get so may people who want to kill themselves?" Duelfer said in an e-mail to CBS.

If the U.S. was invaded by an army that didn't have enough troops to enforce martial law, how many folks would at least take potshots at the invaders? I know me and my boys would. If we could get away with it, it would be the least we could do if we had access to weapons. We grew up watchin "Red Dawn".

Why does it take something bad actually happening to GOP types for them to start questioning why other people don't act like they do? I remember this one right-winger who had a total conversion on health care once his old mama got sick, needed health care and could not afford it. He then saw the real value of publicly-funded health care.
