Iraqi insurgents take control of centre of Ramadi
RAMADI, Iraq (AFP) - Insurgents took control of the centre of the flashpoint Iraqi city of Ramadi after 24 hours of clashes with US forces, an AFP correspondent said.

The US military could not immediately be contacted for comment.

US forces withdrew Tuesday around 2:00 pm (1100 GMT) from Ramadi's main streets to their bases east and west of the city, the correspondent said.

9. Damn, as soon as I saw the headline, same thought!
Oh, well - we'll probably have other chances really soon to post the same thing regarding other cities . . .

12. Me too! Both whack-a-mole and the balloon analogy!
Talk about futile! A whole lot of bloodshed for nothing.

4. The Iraqi version of Whack-A-Mole
Hit them here, they pop up there. Did anyone think that a large contingent of Iraqi forces would hang around Falluja and just wait for the US troops to swoop down on them? They left the raw recruits there to fight to the death, meanwhile they set up operations in another town. This will be repeated ad nauseum.

6. For each rebel killed, many more are created
This won't end until everyone is dead, the ground will have to stained in blood first, we never learn. The saying goes: "What did we learn from Vietnam, stay the hell out of Vietnam."

8. Both sides think
that their respective gods are with them. And yet each side keeps dying.

Billions of irreligious around the world watch this puzzling phenomenon and go on living.

These are strange and unapppeasable gods these soldiers worship. And the bloodbath continues.

10. If it were true mainstream sources would have it by now.
until many sources with opposed points of view confirm
the news.

The above statements could just as easily be applied to
the events of November 3 04.

DU must give way on this issue of posting sketchy(unique) reports
otherwise you are playing into the hands of
the Pentagon and the people who just stole
this election.

Because I can tell you right now that the # 1 goal of
US/CIA/DoD
Propagit is to silence anything that does not conform to
CW.

We're losing and we're losing big.

We have just lost Ramadi which is much more
important than Falluja.

The US controls nothing west of Falluja.

11. The hospital was selected as a target because it was the source
It was selected as a target because it was the source
of "RUMORS"(MY caps) that were "unconfirmed" about
civilian casualties -- i.e., doctors who treated the patients
and communicated with other doctors treating patients
compiled estimates and gave them to those few journalists
who wanted to know.

The military "intends to fight its own information war."
Of course, information about the truth has been a
"potent weapon" for those who oppose the invasion,
because Iraqis, Arabs in general, some Western
Europeans, and a handful of Americans have learned that
truth and tried to act on it.

That must be changed.
