Estrada Withdraws as Bush Judicial Nominee--Sources

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Miguel Estrada, tired of waiting for more than two years for U.S. Senate confirmation, has decided to withdraw his nomination to a federal appeals court, sources close to the Washington attorney said on Thursday.

Sources said Estrada, who has been blocked by Senate Democrats who see him as part of President Bush (news - web sites)'s attempt to pack the courts with right-wing ideologues, came to the conclusion he could no longer have his legal career and personal life on hold.
