Sen. John F. Kerry
offered a surprising pre-debate concession to President Bush yesterday, saying Bush's flip-flop attacks have worked.
Kerry, in an ABC News interview taped while he finished debate prep in Wisconsin, forcefully denied the flipper charges are true, but gave the Bush advertising team credit for making it stick.
``I think their advertising and their effort to use that word over these months have been particularly successful. I give them credit for that,'' Kerry told ABC. ``But it doesn't reflect the truth, nor does it reflect the truth of George Bush's record.''
Kerry charged Bush with changing position on seeking U.N. clearance on Iraq, establishing a homeland security agency and testifying before the 9/11 commission, saying, ``I can run down the longest list I've ever seen on switches in George Bush's positions.''
