BAGHDAD, July 11 — Three U.S. soldiers and three Iraqis were wounded as assailants targeted U.S. forces in Iraq with rocket-propelled grenades and mortars, military officers said on Friday. ---

U.S. forces in Iraq are facing between 10 and 25 attacks every day, according to the general who led the war that ousted Saddam Hussein, but officers denied Arabic media reports they had pulled out of one flashpoint town west of Baghdad. ---

Attackers fired four mortar rounds overnight at a U.S. base in Samarra, around 100 km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, wounding three soldiers and an Iraqi, the military said. ---

4. 4 mortar rounds

it sounds like they get close enough to zero in, get off four rounds and then flee. Before we could get Apaches or patrols out there they would be gone.

Thats pretty nasty, every time they have used mortars its been pretty bad. The attack last week where 18 were wounded was with mortars.
