Iraqis see US as occupiers: poll
Iraqis see US as occupiers: poll

Thursday, May 20, 2004. 8:00pm (AEST)

Opinion poll results to be released next week show nearly nine out of 10 Iraqis see US forces as occupiers rather than liberators or peacekeepers, the British newspaper "The Financial Times" has reported.

It quoted the Iraq Centre for Research and Strategic Studies as saying more than half of 1,600 Iraqis polled wanted the US-led coalition (sic - occupation) troops to leave Iraq, compared to results of about 20 per cent in an October survey.

The poll was conducted before photos showing abuse of Iraqi prisoners by US troops were made public.

2. There's a big surprise
Wonder how Joe Sixpack will take the news that Iraqis as a mass in fact aren't welcoming the foreign invaders, contrary to what the U.S. predicted at the beginning of this diplomatic clusterfuck.

4. LOL! Yes, the Iraqis are stuck with an illegal dictatorship, too.
The Iraqis are doing a better job of humiliating the Idiot Usurper, though. They may be able to defeat Bush before we are able to in November.
