Justice Department to Investigate Judiciary Memo Scandal
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Justice Department on Monday asked the new U.S. attorney in New York to investigate how Republicans got access to Democrats' computer memos in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

A report by the Senate sergeant-at-arms earlier this year faulted two of committee chairman Orrin Hatch's employees for the intrusion into the Democrats' computer documents. It says 4,670 files were found on a GOP aide's computer, "the majority of which appeared to be from folders belonging to Democratic staff."

Democrats have called for an outside investigation, and the Justice Department on Monday sent the case to David Kelley, the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Kelley, a Democrat, took James Comey's position as U.S. attorney after Comey left to become deputy attorney general, the No. 2 job at the Justice Department.

6. No its NOT!!
The GOP just wants to take this away as an issue for the election by just saying "its under investigation". End of story... the next political answer is "what else do you want us to do?"

If 10 months after a CIA agent was outed they still have no indictments why would you think the DOJ would be serious about something they consider a trivial inconvenience?

Sorry to bust any bubbles, but its all politics.

13. Kinda like all the other
"investigations", yet none of them receive much attention at all. A blowjob receives 24/7 outrage by Pravda, meanwhile our regime has y fucked most of America and the Planet against its will and hardly a peep.

5. Do you ever wonder whether Plame will be OUR October surprise?
Maybe these various and sundry abuses and corrupt practices and criminal acts will be marched out, one-by-one, all the way through November.

Wellllll. A girl can dream a little, can't she? :D

8. I'm finishing John Dean's, "Worse Than Watergate".
It is very succinct and points out the more atrocious abuses by the freon neocons.

Of course, everytime I read a book which reaffirms everything I already knew (and there are far more being published than I ever expected),...I just find myself getting pissed off over again.

9. I'm reading Dean's book too.
I agree with your assessment. As I'm reading I can feel Dean's outrage through his words.

11. Well I am sure they will pursue this vigorously and release
a report on Christmas Eve saying no crime was committed. Maybe they can get Louis Freeh to come back and do the deed.

12. Another back-burner scandal, a "Watergate"...
that should have had very serious consequences. We'll see where this goes, and how soon.
