Bush's Tilt to U.N. Shifts Iraq Debate
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/latimests/20040421/ts_latimes/bushstilttounshiftsiraqdebate&cid=2026&ncid=1480

<snip>
In the last week, Bush has scrambled the American debate over the occupation of Iraq by declaring that he will defer to U.N. special envoy Lakhdar Brahimi on the selection of the Iraqi government that will assume power after June 30.

Bush had long resisted a major role for the U.N. in Iraq. His new move has blurred the contrast between him and the Massachusetts senator, who has insisted for months that the United States would not attract more military and financial support in Iraq unless it ceded the international community more control over development of the new Iraqi government.

Kerry and his advisors insist that Bush still has not done enough to share authority in Iraq, but some Democrats acknowledge that his shift may make it tougher for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee to distinguish his approach from the administration's.

"There are still ways you can emphasize the difference, but it is harder," said Ivo Daalder, a National Security Council aide under President Clinton (news - web sites).

1. There will be no
turnover as our regime will NEVER release their grip on Iraqs resources and their reconstruction contracts. This also will hinder their "christian" crusade that they so desperately want.

2. People don't understand insanity
Actually this is a twisted variant of what Bush intended (still intends and is doing) all along. Have the UN carry our water, set up garrisons and clean up the messes as WE move on to other Pipeline Empire conquests. Bushco doesn't care if a only a contingent of our boys are holed up in Crusader castles while the third world grunts take care of "security". So long as the independence and democracy of civil governments are bent to America's will- and- more importantly- certain large corporations and banks have total sway over all affairs that is all that matters.

The first plan(since turned ugly) was for the UN to meekly help the Empire so our troops would not get bogged down or stretched out. Now it looks like begging, but it is still THE plan, which unfortunately the naively civilized rational people of the world do not yet fully see- or wish to face the despicable horror and arrogance of it all.

The rest of the world is built on reasonable compromise, the common good, mutual advantage and giving leaders the benefit of rational attributions. The danger is that they have not changed Bushco one iota, much less beaten them, and the crisis now is as serious as it was before the resolution votes. That will continue as long as Bush is in office. The absurdity of the comedy is that Bush's most mad dog supporters don't see his magnificent cruelty either! Ironically, they may numbered among his harshest critics, but such is the breed of morons.
