Explosion at Sydney Airport, man hurt

An elderly man has been severely burned in an explosion at Sydney's International Airport this morning.

Paramedics discovered the 88-year-old conscious and breathing on arrival, but found he had been scalded by hot water about 8.20am (AEST).

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said a number of triple-0 calls were made to assist the man, but details of the accident were unclear at this stage.
