Obama urges Republicans to follow Reagan example
Source: Agence France-Presse

President Barack Obama urged Republicans to draw inspiration from the hero of fiscal conservatives, Ronald Reagan, who had agreed to revenue increases to cut the US deficit.

"Ronald Reagan repeatedly took steps that included revenue, in order for him to accomplish some of these larger goals," Obama told CBS in an interview.

"And the question is if Ronald Reagan could compromise -- why wouldn't folks who idolize Ronald Reagan be willing to engage in those same kinds of compromises."

Reagan was a staunch Republican, who led the United States for two terms from 1981 to 1989, and was in power when Congress was controlled by the Democrats.

6. Ronald Reagan was not an 'organizer' he was elected
President of the Screen Actor's Guild, the Union of which he was a member. The powerful people that pushed him into office were his own agents at MCA, Lew Wasserman etc, who wanted changes to rules and regulations which would allow MCA-a talent agency- to purchase Universal-a producing studio. This merger was seen as and was a conflict of interest, and Ronny was put in place to sign the papers that changed the rules to let that merger happen, MCA/Universal.
Organizer or Rat Fucker? I say Rat Fucker.

7. yeah, then he tossed his friends over the side by ratting on them during the commie hearings.
he was dead to the Dems from that point forward. he soon after switched parties because the Dems could no longer stomach his cheerleading for mccarthy.

17. WWRD?
"What Would Reagan Do?"

Probably more effective for swaying a conservative"s opinion than "What Would Jesus Do?", cuz Reagan was a hard core fascist and Jesus was a peacenik socialist hippie freak.
