Supreme Court Won't Hear ACORN Lawsuit Over Ban On Government Funding
Source: HuffingtonPost

The Supreme Court won't hear an appeal from ACORN, the activist group driven to ruin by scandal and financial woes, over being banned from getting federal funds.

The high court on Monday refused to review a federal court's decision to uphold Congress's ban on federal funds for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Congress cut off ACORN's federal funding last year in response to allegations the group engaged in voter registration fraud and embezzlement and violated the tax-exempt status of some of its affiliates by engaging in partisan political activities.

ACORN sued, but the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City upheld the action. The high court refused to hear its appeal.

2. Would it be possible to rebuild that organization with a new name?
No reason to take this dirty dealing as the last word, after all.

The need for an organization like ACORN still remains. That need should be addressed, and the new organization created with the lesson understood from the last, that the right will clearly attempt to destroy it, as it advances democracy. The next organization needs to be better focused, stronger, more prepared for evil, filthy attacks from the very first.

Too bad the perps from the "Pimp" crime can't be forced to wear their cheap, slimy costumes every single day for the next 10 years, the same clothes they used to try to devaluate some imaginary group of people.

5. Sure... but you still need to get a red Congress to fall for it.
Not that they're the sharpest tools in the shed... but it would be tough to add the budget line.

9. Not Well Connected
Acorn founder should have gone on a hunting or fishing trip with Justice Scalia while the decision was pending. That probably would have aided their cause substantially.

13. We have to stop saying this and realize bluedogs and Dino's
(politely called corporate dems) are working for the other side. We have only had a majority in delusion.
