Anthony Weiner: Teen's Lawyer Says Nothing Inappropriate in Congressman's Tweets
By DAVID KERLEY (@David_Kerley) , STEVEN PORTNOY, DEVIN DWYER (@devindwyer) and DEAN SCHABNER
June 11, 2011

There was nothing salacious or inappropriate in the tweets that Rep. Anthony Weiner exchanged with a 17-year-old Delaware girl, according to her family's lawyer, and police said the girl told them nothing about any criminal activity.

Police in New Castle, Del., began investigating Weiner's online communication with the girl after he admitted earlier in the week that he sent lewd photos of himself to several women via social media.

Authorities visited the high school student's home Friday to talk to her mother and request access to the girl's phone and computer.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported today that Philadelphia lawyer Daniel P. McElhatton, who represents the girl's family, issued a statement saying: "The 'Tweets' in question between the student in question and the Congressman were not salacious or in any manner inappropriate. No photographers were ever sent to her or from her."

11. They're taking a rumour and basically saying he did it
The way media runs and ppl's short attention-span, it wouldn't surprise me if they think he went further and raped her or something ridiculous

4. What a joke! Mark Foley???
So Congressman Weiner did NOT have inappropriate conversations with underage girls. Meanwhile, traditional media featured the infamous Mark Foley (who DID send inappropriate messages to underage male pages) giving advice and suggestions. What a double standard.

Vitter purchased sex from the DC Madam. Yet he still votes in the Senate.

Ensign buys-off his mistress' family.

The Newt plows through multiple wives.

The Blabermouth limp-blob plows through multiple wives and drug problems.

And Congressman Weiner is crucified daily because of chats and tweets?

Something is out of balance here.

6. We don't know whether or not Weiner did yet.
Her parents deny this, but the police have the phone and computer and are seeking "independent corroborating evidence."

9. They might want to do this to protect her privacy from the media
And Anthony Weiner owes her family for the attorney bills.

8. Why did Weiner reply, through a spokesperson or otherwise? Was it with certitude?
He should know that his word is in question. Understandably so.
