Wisconsin GOP leaders encouraging colleagues to place fake Democrats on recall ballots
Source: JS Online

The season of dirty political tricks is now officially under way.

In letters obtained by No Quarter, local Republican Party officials are encouraging their GOP colleagues to collect enough signatures to get a fake Democratic candidate on the ballot in each of two upcoming recall elections.

The spoiler Democrats, who are identified by name in the letters, would run in the Democratic primaries for the seats now held by Republican Sens. Randy Hopper of Fond du Lac and Luther Olsen of Ripon.

Both of the fake Democrats have a history of giving almost exclusively to major Republicans.

"We need to make sure Democrat challengers face primaries to allow our Republicans time to mount a campaign," Dan Feyen, chairman of the 6th Congressional District Republican Party, wrote in the letter to "fellow conservatives" on Friday.

22. There is no DLC.
But there are people who need desperately to invest in a labelable boogeyman.

It's the cheapest, most thoughtless name-calling which is so much easier for some than a reasoned argument with evidence to support it.

30. "There is no DLC," Really?
http://www.dlc.org/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Leadership_Council

I have no idea what the now deleted post said, but there is a DLC and, beyond that, the mentality of the DLC and its clones--New Democrats, Third Way, No Labels, etc.--has just about taken over the Democratic Party. Thanks to our current Party head, New Democrat Obama, it certainly has run the DNC since Obama booted Dean.

Therefore, while the DLC does still exist and function--with apologies to Mark Twain, reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated--the DLC need no longer be as active as it once was.

They were organized in the late 80s, and funded by large Corporations
with the purpose of taking over the Democratic Party.
They WON.

And via exit polls, his voters would not have voted for the Republican if he wasn't on the ballot.

The Dem's wrote this district off years ago and have been handing it to the Republicans. Jack Davis was not a Dem plant. He runs with his own agenda and his own funding. He ran on the Democratic line several times because nobody else bothered to.

7. And The GOP Shouts Election Fraud When They are the Party Perpetraing It
The GOP does its best to prevent people from voting. There has NEVER been a case of widespread voter fraud - well except during the GW Bush elections and the recent WI supreme court elections.

The fraudulent GOP needs to go straight to hell. Hypocritical asses.

Yep, ACORN was a problem because it registered minorities and the poor. All classes of people the GOP doesn't give a shit about.

There will only be one of each party on ticket. They aren't doing what the guy in NY26 did, they are just trying to get enough signatures to get a Democrat on ballot for a primary to buy time to prepare campaign.

These phony candidates are already exposed, and now they are giving the real candidates a chance to get some exposure prior to the recall itself. A big reason Kloppenburg lost was due to lack of name recognition, and with solid campaign funding by dems, this can be overcome.

They have no respect for voters. They say they don't believe in big government, yet they do everything they can to thwart the will of the people. If you truly fear government, then why fight to keep it out of the control of the people?

They don't fear government per se. They fear honestly elected government that truly represents the will of the people.

Fortunately they were stupid enough to put this particular plot in writing.

51. Answer: It's entirely different because
Edited on Mon Jun-06-11 08:32 AM by brentspeak
a) Jack Davis wasn't a "long-time Democrat" in the first place: He was a self-described "Goldwater Republican" for 50 years until he temporarily became a Democrat beginning in 2003 and ending in 2008 -- when he rejoined the Republican party. Davis was a "long-time Democrat" for a whopping five years.

b) Unlike the brand-new fake Democratic candidates the Wisconsin GOP are hoping to field, Davis has already been an actual candidate in his district for the past four regular House election cycles.

c) Unlike the brand-new fake Democratic candidates the Wisconsin GOP are hoping to field, Davis is a self-financing, independent candidate, controlled and recruited by no one, including the Democratic party.

Hope that helps.

They did this with Alvin Greene also, there is no way he had the money to get into the race, he was unemployed...yet he came up with $10,000. from somewhere. And it wasn't the Democrats.

95. Don't buy the GOP spin. Jack Davis was NOT a long-time Democrat.
Jack Davis was NOT a long-time Democrat. He is a long-time Republican who ran on the Democratic line in 04 and 06 after getting thrown out of a Cheney fundraiser because he criticized the Bush Administration for outsourcing US jobs and industry to Communist China. The Republicans and Democrats wouldn't let him on the ballot this time, but 12,000 people signed petitions for him to run on the Tea Party line. Nothing dirty about that. Don't buy the GOP spin.

In the day, you wouldn't be able to elect a republican, soooo, they ran as "Democrats".

IMHO, this particular slimy trick is what has diluted our party to make it virtually indistinguishable from the republicans.

I have quit waiting for people to wake up and realize what is going on. republicans will do whatever they can to win the elections at whatever cost...and not just for "Brand republican"...they will win to impose their twisted will upon everyone that they can. Even if they have to do it as Democrats.

56. Once Again, Another Example of Sock Puppets Designed To Sap Support For Democrats
Edited on Mon Jun-06-11 09:36 AM by TomCADem
With millions in corporate money, Republicans can afford to attack from the right and the left. I am sure they are also funding a bunch of Green party candidates, then urging the left to cast a protest vote for a Green.

73. They are incapable of winning elections without cheating in most races
I think it is a pre-requisite to be a liar and cheater in order to be on the ticket in ANY Republican race.

79. Wonder why it took the Journal so long...
This was all reported last week:

http://lacrossetribune.com/news/local/article_0f2ffc96-8cc9-11e0-aa91-001cc4c002e0.html

June 1st, 12:00 am post time.

The part about "...letters obtained by No Quarter (the name of Bice's column)..." is confusing,
since the LaCrosse paper used "audio" as its source.

84. Republcians tried this in California in the 90's.
Especially in primaries to siphon off votes from a popular candidate to get a person easier to beat on the ballot.

85. When it comes to subverting democracy and undermining the will of the people the Republicans know no
bounds. These are corrupt degenerates who must be removed from positions where they can do so much harm.

RECOMMENDED!

86. SUGGEST DUers comment on GOP tactics on M$M cites. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THIS WILL BE KNOWN TO MANY

PEOPLE! I know it's kindof a pain to set up an account and all but these things must be talked about and the only way they will appear on corporate media sites is if informed people include this information in their comments to articles on these sites.

90. This is what they do in RI
And these FAKE Democraps, DINOs, often win, forcing the entire state to the right, even as it looks blue. It is shameful. The Democratic Party should endorse the REAL Democratic candidates and make it very clear who is what.

91. We do.
It was the focal point of the state convention this past weekend. The chair dubbed it the "2011 Recall Convention".

Here are all of the Democratic candidates for recall: http://www.wisdems.org/candidates

You can support their fight against AFP and Citizens United by donating to their campaigns.

93. I know of two stealth candidates back from
the1970's.
Stealth candidate were how the evangelicals got control of the Oklahoma and Texas state school boards. The county clerk in Broward County Fl. was a Repo before she was a Dem just long enough to fuck Dole out of the WH and then she was a Republican again.
Two nominees for an open state legislature seat nominated by Sarah Palin, against common practice and the law, were Republicans until a few weeks before she nominated them to fill a vacant Democratic seat. To their credit the Republican dominated Alaskan legislature rejected them both.

Jeeez the Dims are slow to catch on.

Republicans cheat, and they lie, even when they don't have to.

The Republicans in Michigan have put up a fake petition to Recall Snyder site to dupe people int thinking they have already signed the petition which is totally useless unless you sign the Official Paper Petition.
