Suze Rotolo, Muse and Girlfriend to Bob Dylan, Dies at 67
Source: NY Times

Suze Rotolo, who entered into a romantic relationship with Bob Dylan in the early 1960s as his career was just getting started and, in one of the signature images of the decades, walked with him arm-in-arm on the cover of his groundbreaking second album, “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan,” died on Thursday at her home in Manhattan. She was 67.

The cause was lung cancer, her husband, Enzo Bartoccioli, said on Monday.

Ms. Rotolo, whose nickname was pronounced su-zee, met Mr. Dylan in 1961 at a Riverside Church folk concert at which he was performing. She was 17; he was 20.

6. One Too Many Mornings
Hi Hissyspit, You seem to have a much closer perspective on the happenings in the Greenwich Village scene during those times than I do. Please tell me, do you think that the Dylan song, "One Too Many Mornings" was about his relationship with Suze Rotolo? That song holds such great appeal for me because it seems to be such a universal truth about so many other romantic relationships that have come and gone in the history of our planet. I was 15 years old when I first heard it but even then, although I could not fathom the depth of what it said due to my having never experienced a relationship that had lived a life span long enough and complex enough to arrive at that point, I still somehow was able to sense the artistic depth of what Dylan was saying. In the song, he uses so few words to describe both the state of his relationship, as well as paint a picture of the physical surroundings that at the moment encompass that relationship. The physical picture and the emotional conflict totally embrace each other, and his words are so powerful and so complete. It is chilling for me, every time I think of it. Isn't it funny, I never knew her but I began to weep when I read of her passing?

I thought she was so beautiful.

I was around 22 yr old and trapped forever (I thought) in a bad marriage with my two little daughters. My sister gave me that album for my birthday and it literally changed my life . I had never heard anything like it .

5. She protested at GOP convention in 2004
Boston Globe

She remained politically active. In 2004, using the pseudonym Alla DaPie, she joined the street-theater group Billionaires for Bush and protested at the Republican national convention.

Put her name under - people I wish I had known.
