Iran says it has the right to bar UN inspectors
By NASSER KARIMI (AP) – 49 minutes ago

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's nuclear chief said Tehran has the right to bar some U.N. inspectors from monitoring its disputed nuclear program, the semiofficial ISNA news agency reported.

Ali Akbar Salehi's late Monday comments were apparently in response to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, expressing alarm about Iran's decision to bar some of its inspectors.

The report followed Iran's recent decision to strip two inspectors of the right to monitor its nuclear activities after they reported what they said were undeclared nuclear experiments.

ISNA also quoted Salehi as saying Iran asked the agency to replace the two and that it has accepted the replacements.

2. Israel did not sign the NPT. Iran should just do what North Korea did, grow a pair
and quit the treaty. Instead of screwing around, just quit.

4. "Iran's nuclear chief said Tehran has the right to bar SOME U.N. inspectors"
"This is our right as well as the right of other members of the agency to choose the inspectors," Salehi said. "Basically, all member nations select from a list provided by the agency."

The inspectors in question, are probably Israeli and/or U.S. spies.

Iran, at least, indicates some willingness to cooperate, unlike the U.S. and Israel.

5. Right, they seem quite willing
to play a game. This guy sounds jewish, this guy is from the UK.

They are just wasting time.. If they had a pair they would just bail on the treaty.

6. They all play "games"; always have. That's just the way it is.
The U.S is playing "games" by singling out Iran, and by coaxing, tickling, strong-arming and bribing other countries into supporting its agenda. The U.S. plays "games" by allowing only facilities in the U.S. to be inspected that are not deemed "significant to national security". Israel and the U.S. are both playing "games" when they block discussion in the UN of Israel's aggression and their own nuclear weapons. "Games" are clearly a part of the process as it plays out in reality, and Iranian "games" are no more disturbing than the "games" played by other countries.

The important question is: In the end, will Israel and the U.S. attack Iran in order to prevent it from becoming a serious regional power, and thus a deterrent to Israeli expansion and U.S. designs for control over hydrocarbons?

7. So this is a jew thing too?
The US has clearly defined its nuclear capability. We have lots of advanced weapons, whats to inspect. Really come on?

Israel is not a signatory of the NPT. That's the way it is, if Iran want a bomb they should just exit the treaty.

Iran is not now not in the near future going to be a regional power. Even if they start testing nukes, they are still a theocratic shithole.. They will at best be like Pakistan, nuclear power, but a beggar state when a natural disaster strikes.

9. The only thing clear about your message,
is that you don't believe the U.S. is obligated to abide by treaties or any other framework for international law. That is a given, based on the thousands of your messages that I have read. You are far from being alone in that regard.

The "jew thing" comment is just plain bizarre.

8. He is correct. I don't know what the controversy is here.
As far as I can see the only controversy is in AP's headline.

Iran is not banning inspectors, as the headline says. It is choosing different inspectors from the list, as is its right. Why would they want spies and liars inspecting their sites when they could have real honest inspectors do the job?

Ratchet up the propaganda AP!

10. No problem there ...

Storm in a teacup (but still "strangely" sufficient to flush out the person
upthread who just can't avoid any such manufactured "controversy").
