New NOAA Forecast: Oil spill 35 miles from Tampa Bay area by June 8
Source: NOAA

NOAA 72-hour offshore trajectory forecast for noon June 6, 2010 - June 8, 2010.

By June 8 the outer boundary of the BP oil spill is forecast to be under 40 miles from the Tampa Bay area.

1. Nope, have not heard of that. In fact, Tampa is a "forbidden zone".

2. I imagine all of it will not remain in the loop current, some of it will be slung off.

I also believe the slinging off will become more pronounced when hurricanes approach.

3. No we never hear anything about how far away or how soon.
You would think that with 2 news papers and 3 or 4 TV stations with Helicopters at least one of them would bother to fly out and look.
