Saudi youths in trouble over MTV reality show
Source: Gulf News

Saudi Arabia's religious police are trying to bring to court three Saudi youths for challenging the kingdom's austere lifestyle on an MTV reality show - a new test of the country's stated commitment to reform.
Divisions have emerged within the influential religious establishment, including the religious police body itself, over long-held restrictions that have been enforced in the world's leading oil producing country and key US ally.
An official at the Jeddah court confirmed the filing of the lawsuit for the crime of "openly declaring sin" and said it would take at least one week for the Islamic sharia court to decide whether to proceed with a trial or dismiss the case.
The Saudi judiciary system, based on an austere reading of Islamic sharia law, reserves harsh punishments for such offences that could involve lashes with whip and years of imprisonment.
Aired last month, MTV's "True Life - Resist the Power, Saudi Arabia" followed how three Saudi youths and a heavy metal band cope with the strictures they encounter in their daily life in Jeddah, seen as the kingdom's most liberal city
Interior ministry police and the religious police work together to make sure unrelated men and women are kept apart, women are covered from head to toe and that sharia law is implemented, including a ban on alcohol.
"We are not free to live as we like," said Aziz, one of the youths who appeared on the MTV show. The episode showed how he tries to meet his girlfriend for a date, a risky endeavour in the kingdom. "I feel great solace when I talk to her."...

5. we are not Allies.. we are their Bitches. they own us, bought us up with our own Petro dollars..
that is why our government wont work.. we cant get alternate energy programs passed ..would cut into our Masta's oil profits.. we cant criticize the horrific genocidal brutality of Jihad played out in the 3rd world or even cultural problems in "Civilized" countries in the EU.
i know a woman from Germany that immigrated here because she could no longer feel safe going anywhere by herself...

we are in Afghanistan for a very strange reason... the Pashtun Tribes want to make an Islamic State by partitioning Pakistan. Pakistan wants to make a deal with them to take Afghanistan instead, and leave Pakistan intact.

so it looks like we are only holding Afghanistan till the deal is drawn up... this really sounds like Stalin giving Hitler the Balkans to leave him alone.. we all know how well that worked out. So it looks like our soldiers are dying to only hold a chess piece while a deal is made. between 2 of some of the most despicable groups on earth. who both hate and dispise us. and one has atomic weapons.!!

7. And the Parents Television Council cheered.
The PTC is the American Moral Police because they insist that primetime TV be 101% inoffensive and sterile and traditionally moral. Just like the Islamic Moral Police. The PTC especially dislikes MTV. The PTC's founder L. Brent Bozell III cheers on the War in Iraq regularly and supports Fox News, which is partially owned by the Saudis. (He also bashed True Life in one of his columns) Oh how I could go on and on and ON!
