Sharp momentum shift back to the Democrats
By Alexander Bolton - 03/25/10 08:31 PM ET

Political momentum has shifted so fast over the last week that it has given Republicans whiplash.

Democrats are heading into the two-week Easter recess in high spirits after passing the most sweeping domestic policy reform since Medicare was enacted four decades ago.

President Barack Obama on Thursday dared Republicans to make healthcare reform a campaign issue.

“They’re actually going to run on a platform of repeal in November,” Obama said. “Well, I say go for it.”

3. IMO...
...this is exactly what is going on. I have some not too liberal pals who are totally turned off by the teabagger bullshit of late. They were not real pro-Obama prior to this crap...but I can see they are stunned by the RWs and distancing from them. So...only one way to go...towards the left.

The Republicans are going to have to get the wind knocked out of them a few times before they become willing to adopt a more compromising attitude.

8. Yes, it has. It's a party victory and allows addressing other topics.

We badly needed a success. While this bill is not what I wanted, and I felt our entire leadership team settled for too little, it's passed. It's ours. We own it, like it or not.

The option I choose is to support the bill for now, and focus on other issues in the immediate future.

JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, JOBS and more JOBS. Get people working and many problems fix themselves.

We have to win again in November, or the Republicans will dismantle everything, and launch Ken Starr II, the bastard child of Karl Rove and John Yoo.

11. Repubs remind me of the foul-mouthed parrot
You know, the one who would curse like a drunken sailor when his owner came home. The owner was a sweet old lady who rued the day she took in the refugee from a bawdy house down near the wharf, and she was beside herself as to what to do. One day, when she arrived home from shopping, the parrot lit into her with a tirade worth of a tea-bagger. She grabbed the bird and opened the nearest door and tossed him in -- to the freezer. After a few seconds, the cussing and squawking stopped and she became concerned that she actually froze the bird stiff. Upon opening the freezer, a very contrite parrot emerged. "Please excuse my behavior, madam, I shall never utter another foul word" said the parrot. "But would you please tell me, what was it that the chicken said?"

16.  I'm glad that the Dems get a boost, just when we need it, though it's sad it has to come
because the right has gone totally bonkers.

Imagine the boost a better bill would have given us!
